House Music

Anybody who is interested in the older stuff get yourselves over to <a class="postlink" href="http://www.oldskoolanthemz.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.oldskoolanthemz.com</a>

Ive been a member on there for years, and there are loads of old Hac, Shelleys, Legends etc sets you can download providing the links are still up.

Like a couple of you I was a Hac regular from summer 89 onwards, mainly Friday nights, and I was at Konspiracy nearly every Saturday until it all got a bit too tasty towards the end (as Manchester did in general towards the end of 1990). The people I knew, including myself, cleared off to Shelleys which was rocking on a Friday late 90, early 91. Looking back it was a great time to be young, and I feel lucky to have been part of it, even though its all a bit of a blur...

DJs would drop Young MC Know How, King bee (Back By dope demand) mixed in with 2 bad Mice (Bombscare), leftfield (Not forgotten), Innocence (Natural Thing), Dee Lite (Goove is), Joe Smooth (promised Land), Orange & lemon (Dreams of) and probably drop Hardfloor (Acperience) proper mix of sounds and you'd be rocking to them all

That was the soundtrack to the Hacienda, 1989-90

Classic, all....
agree 100%,did any one on here go in the midland thurs and sat? that was some gaff, come in come over and dnt be shy!then off to man alive or the dome.

We all shouldnt be arguing which was the better era for dance music.

Dance music and clubbing is always good depending on where you go and what music is being played. Different cities have had spells of owning the best club at that time, like shellys in stoke, hac in manchester, gatecrasher in sheffield. And now its currently in manchester at the warehouse project. I saw sasha there a couple of weeks ago and he was awsome. Back in the days of shellys he used to push the boundaries, playing accapellas and stuff, and now he still pushes the boundaries by using ableton and the technology he has at his fingertips.

So lets all agree that dance music was, and always will be awsome!

The tune of last year!!!!
