Thought it was ace and that part at the end about Winter and Azhor Ahai felt like the director’s addressing the mistakes made in GOT S8. The fact that the whole ASOIAF world has been built around the tale of Winter destroying men and the prince that was promised, and when Winter came it was simplified to one episode is farcical.

Think there’s going to be a few of these shows as the world is fantastic, would love to see the tales of Dunk and Egg brought to screen and I highly recommend fans of the show read the three novellas in the collection ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’.

With Martins involvement with this series I’m hoping this means he’s going to get his arse in gear and give the canon ending in the books, although no holding my breath. Or they give a proper ending with this potential snow series

I don’t think there’s ever been anything as disappointing as that final ever episode of GOTs in television or film history.

I’ll wait to hear what people who aren’t massive GOT fans think of this before I bother watching this one.

Think i'm the same as you mate. I did find that Walking Dead also had a point where it became absolutely shite, can't even remember when i stopped watching or how long its been because every episode just became the same as the last one.

I haven't decided whether I'm going to watch this yet. 'Ruined' might be too strong a word, but the authors of that final episode of the original series, certainly doused pretty much every bit of enthusiasm I had for the whole franchise with that lamentable ending. A semi decent ending and I would have watched the whole she-bang over and over again, because at its peak it was sensationally good. As it is, I haven't watched it again once.....not even Hardhome, Dance of the Dragons or Battle of the Bastards....
 
If it's dropping weekly I'll use it to leverage my Monday night malaise/blues (something to look forward to at the end of the first day back).
Then I can finished my other box sets in the week.
Sounds promising from the reviews on here so Im diving in in.

Paddy looks funny in that 'Elves' wig mind....
