Depends on the immediacy of 'will be', I assumed it to mean in the near future. I don't think anyone gets close to legitimately challenging him in his prime years unless injuries occur.

I am just sceptical. Pep said about 2 months ago we would not be signing another midfielder because we have Foden and I know people change their mind, but this would not bode well for Foden's future considering we have already bought Torres to play for a spot on the wing.

To be at the very top of the European pile, you need a strong squad where players compete for positions. Bayern are testimony to that. Certainly, de Bruyne, by dint of his experience, ability, and performance is now our best attacking midfielder, but there’s currently a drop off to Bernardo and Foden, and if form eluded either, we’d be back to using players out of position. We can pair de Bruyne with either of those two, but if he were injured (3,826 minutes last season), I’d be less comfortable if Gundogan had to step forward. Aouar could be paired with any of the other three and we’d have an incredibly strong set of options.

I think we need one more in the centre or else we will keep seeing Gundogan at number 8.

Pep does not play De Bruyne and Silva, whilst De Bruyne and Foden would be super exciting but might lack control in some games with them both ok the front foot.

If we are classing Silva and Foden at CM’s it is just 2 wingers and Torres (who I imagine will be managed into the team over the first 3 months or so due to his age).

If we sell Ota, Stones and Garcia, Fern is firmly established as 4th choice CB.

It seems a lot when everyone is fit but we only need one injury and with the large number of games we will start looking short.

Not to my knowledge but I'm not that fortunate to shop for expensive properties so I wouldn't know how they operate. He mentioned the age but thats all ... no name. I'm putting 2 and 2 together and guessing its Aouar but then again I could be wrong. Just sharing what I heard like others do.

That's what I've been saying. I think signing another winger would make sense. From what I heard we tried making Coman a part of the Sané deal, but Bayern didn't accept.

But maybe Pep's thinking this:
- DMs Rodri/Ferna
- CMRs De Bruyne/Gundo
- CMLs Foden/ Aouar
- RWs Bernardo/ Mahrez
- LWs Sterling/ Torres

Would be scary if De Bruyne got injured. I'd definitely use Bernardo as CML, Aouar as CMR and sign a new winger, preferably a left-footed one who plays on the left side, like Sané.
