how are older blues handling this?

40 and just bumped into my cousin at our corner shop, he got me into City at the age of 7 showing me them old footie cards where you got a block of pink chuddy with em, pictures of Bell, Lee and Summerbee and talking about Tueart's goal to win our last Cup

I said to him it's all your fault my 30 odd years of pain, never mind we just spent £107m on Kaka!!

32 years ago i started supporting City, it was the season after the league cup and i didnt even know we had won it.

So i havnt seen them lift a trophy (not including that play off thing).

I am well over due some joy.

I am loving it, even the wingers and moaners make me smile (jealous twats lol)

Us older ones eh ? I saw the golden era, when we were kings. Was at title-winning game at Newcastle, and Wembley twice. I'm glad I've got those memories, because looking back, it seems like it happened in another time warp, with an entirely different Manchester City.

This has got to be the best ever City project, and stands to eclipse everything that has gone before.

I'm just as anxious as everyone else here, wanting to hear we've signed KaKa.

Best SSN moments today (Friday) - seeing an utterly crestfallen Sam Allardyce and a cameo appearance by Ferguson looking lost for words. Priceless !

Bring it on.

I'm 45. Started going as a 7 year old in 70/71 last couple of games in the season.

Been a S/T holder barring work commitments since 1973.

Seen us win the LC in '76 and that's it. Therefore, obviously I'm not a 'gloryhunter'.

Had so many highs and lows. The worlds greatest rollercoaster comes nowhere near City (just this month lose to Forest and sign Kaka?). There are so many others that I could use but the bandwidth would suffer, but as a taster I give you - QPR 2-2 at home I wont do the only City story but anyway you weill all know it.

The current position is that if our owners pulled out we would be down the pan quicker than a flushed turd with or without the money being spent on Kaka so just hold on tight and go with the ride.

ADUG seem to want to win. After all these years I want to win and just as important I want to win while I'm still young enough to enjoy with my 17 year old son. I had the pleaure of going to Schalke with him. The best 3 days of my life supporting City even more so that the 5-1 etc. and I never thought anything would come even close to that.

Enjoy the good times while they are here I'm sure that down the line as City are City we'll be playing Macc, Stockport, Oldham again.

62yo first game mid fifties stood behind Bert Trautmans goal on the old scoreboard end. First 8 or 9 years just like our recent past relagation some amazing results e.g.6-2win against Spurs double winning team after a dreadful post Christmas run
Joe arrives and I can honestly say best 10 years of my life hardly missing a game until marriage and kids(2 staunch blues) arrived. bore the gloom years with the black humour you need to be a City fan
Now my biggest fear is I won't be around to see the present project come to fruition.Fed up listening to all these rag pundits spouting rubbish about us.I have been listening to this crap for 50 years so nothing changes. We no longer be "dear old City" to the rest of football and I think that will take them a while to get used to it
An anecdote that sums up City Good Friday 1962 play Sheffield Wednesday on a typical wet rainy City day In the City team were a host of young players Young Pardoe Wagstaffe etc First time ever in the Kippax due to iclement weather my mate turned to me as we completed a 3-1 win,(you know one of those exquisite City performances) Quote "We are gonna have some team next season "
WE GOT RELEGATED

Is that your real name. Only I remember Alex Harley playing for City. Came from Third Lanark I think. He died in his thirties I believe. I also remembered how shiny his legs were due to the liniment he had on!

i am 58 & saw the good old days, was a joy to see the rags running scared.been in exile for the last 35 years putting up with so called rag supporters who don,t even know where the theatre of crap is,i can,t get my head around the money being mentioned . i am sure if Kaka joins City others will follow ,bring on the good times. ps here in south africa kak means shit hope thats not the case with Kaka

That's interesting. I'm 61 and when we were little my dad used the word cacky or kacky (never did see it in print) for meaning the same thing without generating my mum's ire by being vulgar and saying shitty.

Alex Harley was my all time City hero after Bert Trauatman
When he came from Third Lanark he was the top scorer in Europe that season with 43 goals

I'm a blue who watched City win the league in 68 as a small boy.

I love all this Kaka fuss. It's like a return to the good old days when we signed top players like Law, Marsh, Francis and er, Daley.

Supporting City has never been dull.

i agree ive felt sick for a few days now but i know this feeling will change when we know the outcome and its all over, im handleing it by convincing myself it wont happen as not to feel too disapointed if kaka or ac say NO!!!!!!!

i would say my age group 35-40, has had the most heart ache of any othercity fans. i was 2 when we last won a trophy so ive seen jack shit ever since!!!

slightly older and you remember the good times, slightly younger and this is just how it is, misery, supporting city so it hasnt affected you quite the same(yet)!

but my age, we just missed the trophy winning games, so near but yet so far. all this (extremely mild) hint of a very small possibilty of success is making me feel sick!!! i cant handle it. we're in the running for kaka ffs!!!

i'm so giddy its untrue but then there is a small part of me that is scared!! that make sense?
