How dangerous is the World today.

Not to depress but it’s the most dangerous period I can remember.

The problem is you have a new axis of power forming between Russia, china, Iran North Korea and India. Collectively they are arguably as powerful as the US and its allies. Whilst the US is arguably the weakest and most divided as a country it’s been in a long time.
If the axis wanted to weaken "the west" having a US president who actively worked to damage international relationships and and a UK prime minister who broke EU ties would be a great strategy.
Now, what's that about Trump partying in Moscow and his support from Putin. And Boris in the oligarchs pockets as PM and foreign secretary.

With respect to war, the world is no more or less dangerous than it was prior to the fall of the soviet union in the late 80s.

What we have lived through in the last 30yrs, in the west at least, has been an unprecedented time of stability. What we are seeing now is a reversion to the normal.

It depends on which part of the world do you live in.
I think UK is very safe.
No need to worry.

This thread could have been posted every year since we stood upright and walked the earth. There has never been a time when we weren’t at odds or under threatwith someone or other. People forget the history of past form, are susceptible to a media that seems hell bent on making everybody fearful and suspicious. It is no worse than the Cuban Missile days, nowhere near the 30’s, when we had Nazis and Facist’s hate and a love of slaughter in the name of nationalism, killed 80m people.

I hope global stability remains intact until I've done the final sunday roast of mankind.
I'm doing extra roasties if the great unwashed of BM want a pre-armageddon feast...

Does piss me off, just peacefully trying to make a decent life and innocent people get dragged into the squabbles of small dicked megalomaniacs.
I can guarantee if they had to fight their own battles there would be a lot less trouble.

Blessed are the innocent westerners.

Personally I think we're closer to the edge now than during the cold war, then there was the inherent fear of MAD on both sides of the table, ensuring (as far as possible) that it never actually kicked off irrespective of the tensions.

These days we have nukes in the hands of potentially extremist nations, some of whom follow a religion which can (and has) be interpreted to preach that death in the "right manner" is rewarded in the afterlife.

We have a war in Europe involving a super power led by an apparent megalomaniac reportedly in ill health, with the corresponding super power across the atlantic as fractured and open to external influence as it has ever been, with the potential for it to be governed in the not too distant future by another megalomaniac who has stated that withdrawal from NATO is a distinct possibility.

Sat in the middle is a disenfranchised Europe, with a number of countries seeing the rise of the far right, largely unable (or unwilling) to do anything to prevent the war on its eastern edge despite the potential consequence to all should the Russians prevail.

As mentioned above, none of this is particularly new. The world has been at war since the first caveman clubbed his neighbour to death for looking at him in a funny way. What is new however is the weaponry which could effectively silence the planet in a cosmic second.

On the plus side United are still shit

As dangerous as it was yesterday...If you could remove Islam it would be 8/10s more safe, get rid of religion altogether and we could well be in the 9/10s....Lets be clear...If you believe in a deity you are a fuckin dick, if you believe in a benevolent god....you don't own a fucking dictionary you deluded ****
