She is going in a cup cake dress like Katy Perry now, I asked if I could just wear my scruffs and not shave to be Russel Brand but she wasn't having it.

Come on Ste, you somehow forgot to tell us which costume you got on your shopping trip.
You could have gone in a tweed jacket and flat cap dressed as Victor Meldrew, then if you don't like the party it's a perfect excuse to act a miserable git and get away with it saying you're just getting in the fancy dress party spirit.

I got a Super Mario costume mainly because it was on sale.
