I don't. I think he takes a lot of flack on here. He is a good footballer, who offers a goal threat from midfield, with some very well-times runs into the box. If we sell him, it would leave us light in CM, especially when you consider how much footballer both de bruyne and silva have played as is it, and how shagged they both look at the moment. How much would a Gundogan replacement cost? Shit loads.

It might cost "shit loads" but it would be worth it.
Don't get me wrong he's a very good player and seems a good egg - just not one that rolls his sleeves up and produces when needed under pressure. Far too inconsistent. Great to have in the squad - but can't see him making a place his own.

I agree with the first sentence. Stones and Otamendi at the highest level not reliable enough.
Sadly though I don't think Pep will change and therefore the CL will remain a dream.

There were two ways of looking at the game last night.
Keep a clean sheet and hope to score 3 or accept that Liverpool were likely to score and we therefore would need 5.
I think Pep set up for the 2nd option.

He was used against Barca last season, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenalx2, Napoli away and we won all of those games with him playing very well. We win about 3 big games he starts in for every 1 we lose.

Problem with CB’s is we will always go for ball players over actual defenders.

Pep has nearly £200m worth of central defenders at the club, it’s up to him to protect them and get them organised.

I wouldn’t be suprised if we look for an experienced option though.

I still feel if Pep could get his hands on Bonucci or Boateng he would love to have them.

Every team wants that type of player, sometimes you just have to develop one if you can't find anyone to fit the bill, I believe Sane and Bernando can be the match winner type of players we need.

I think more rotation in the centre of the park, after the first 10 games KDB, Silva have to be rotated de Bruyne is shot, he was the one running further forward than Aguero at the start now he sits round the middle and who can blame him. It almost worked against the rags but I just think the chumps league is a step to far with this intensity of play.

We have run Kev into the ground this season, same with a number of players.

I think even if we had got through against Liverpool I am unconvinced we would have got any further.

The team looks physically and pschologically spent.

A lot of effort has gone into winning the league this year.

Already writing off two young players, Robben didn't become world class until he was about 27 /28, that's when he lit up the allianz. We need to be patient with Sane and Berny, the quality is there it would just take a while, Sane could be world class by 25.

Has Laporte really shown enough yet to suggest we should be building our defence around him?
