Noticeable lack of contribution from the more vocal leave idiots on this thread - they seem to have gone very quiet.

The most vocal left a long time ago. Pretty cowardly given his rhetoric. There are one or two that pop back once in a while. When all is said and done, what could they say?

Agreed, two decades seems a stretch. Right now we have no defined agreement on where we want to be with Europe. We can’t exist on the fringes which is why we belatedly joined in the seventies. We can’t exist at the heart of Europe, when even, as members we kept trying to opt out as much as possible. We are now trying to exist by pretending Europe doesn’t matter and the Pacific is where we should be focussed and then finding out the security of Europe is our main priority with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The UK’s main problem is that reality refuses to comply with our preferred fantasy vision of the world. The Protocol Bill last night was evidence of our continued unmooring from reality.
