How many brown people voted for brexit realising that if people fron the continent had to return there, then how many job vacancies would be created for their distant relatives from India, Pakistan, China etc?

Dreadful thing to say. Total lack of self awareness. Plenty of folk can’t afford to eat at Pret. I think that general metropolitan attitude certainly pushed a few marginal votes towards Leave. Might even have been decisive.

The damage will have to be much more catastrophic for there to be enough critical mass, I’m afraid. We need two thirds to stridently want us to rejoin to make it viable imo. And that’s before considering whether they’d have us back (I happen to think they would, eventually).

A criticism you can also hear being laid at the feet of Labour leadership being lately largely from Islington, white and male - not a dig at Labour just an observation in the same theme. If history shows Brexit was decided by a thumbing of the nose to the establishment I don’t think many would be too surprised.

It's a matter of time

Is LBC a good barometer of the nations opinion writ large? Or just the metropolitan chattering classes? Not saying it’s wrong but I see it as a chat show that you’ll routinely listen to if you generally agree with the presenters, and those presenters discussing Brexit aren’t the from the leave side of the debate are they?

Will they actually realise that though…If forecasts are correct and we lose ~3% of GDP over time will they notice?
