How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

It’s a very peculiar English problem. An unwillingness to have an adult conversation led to the problem and an unwillingness to have an adult conversation now just means everyone becomes poorer. Social awkwardness at its best.

Another interesting coincidence - or maybe not, is an amusing tale from the wacky world of high finance.
Having spotted the likelihood of brexit causing problems for their investing strategy ( actually mentioning in their prospectus, brexit as a ’risk’ to investment, and a cause of ‘considerable uncertainty’) a certain company opened an office in Dublin to avoid any obstruction to their money making wheezes and ensure continuing profits.
The founder of this co. was of course one Jacob Rees-Mogg who decided that brexit was a great idea, and we should all be grateful for it.
Of course he insisted that this had nothing to do with brexit, and I for one believe him!!

As with all supply chains ie tomatoes recently or in this case queues at the Dover choke point, Brexit means there is less slack in the system because it imposes barriers and the more barriers you have the greater the chance the chain or queue will collapse when put under pressure.

To recap. Brexit is a barrier to the movement of goods, people and services. Once you understand this simple fact, you will save yourself the trouble of posting your travel blog of carefree jaunts to foreign lands - which is kind of dissing the school kids who had their Easter trip cancelled (thanks Brexit!).

The thread is predictable: It's a barrage of bad news which is directly caused by Brexit. This is because Brexit is a disaster. If there was any good news relating to Brexit then the thread would be full of the Brexit supporters crowing about it. But there is no good news so there are no posts like that.

This is not rocket science. There is no remainer/establishment/blob conspiracy. There's just a recession that's here to stay and no way out.

I flew to Germany (Munich) 2 weeks ago and most of the problems are created by the European countries and what is either spiteful or just stupidly inefficient policies. You have to get a stamp on the way in and you'll queue dependent on staff, everyone else will use the automatic barriers.

On the return to the UK we had to queue for our stamp out and couldn't use the barriers like everyone else of any other country. Later they forced us into a massive queue at the gate to get a 'sticker' in our passport saying it'd been checked, I don't know what they check but that's 150 people in a queue for no reason.

There's no reason whatsoever for any of this actually. I flew to the US and Caribbean last year and I didn't need to get stamped out and I didn't need to queue to get my passport checked at the gate. So why does Germany insist on these checks specifically for UK passport holders/UK flights?

Note for city fans travelling, this whole process will probably be a pain in the arse in 3 weeks time. You will come back to the UK and wonder why EU nationals or anyone with a barometric passport can use our automatic barriers but you can't use theirs.... Go figure.
