Yes, you don't understand what we left and the border controls we wanted put in place, obviously the EU s fault.I flew to Germany (Munich) 2 weeks ago and most of the problems are created by the European countries and what is either spiteful or just stupidly inefficient policies.
On the return to the UK we had to queue for our stamp out and couldn't use the barriers like everyone else of any other country. Later they forced us into a massive queue at the gate to get a 'sticker' in our passport saying it'd been checked.
There's no reason whatsoever for any of this. I flew to the US and Caribbean last year and I didn't need to get stamped out and I didn't need to queue to get my passport checked at the gate. So why does Germany insist on these checks specifically for UK passport holders?
Note for city fans travelling, this whole process will probably be a pain in the arse in 3 weeks time. You will come back to the UK and wonder why EU nationals or anyone with a barometric passport can use our automatic barriers but no matter what you can't use theirs.... Go figure.

It has nothing to do with the EU but rather the countries involved. We are a third country and the EU does not set immigration or border policies so the EU itself is irrelevant.Yes, you don't understand what we left and the border controls we wanted put in place, obviously the EU s fault.
You seem not to be aware of the rule we signed up to as part of the withdrawal agreement that we can no longer spend more than 90 days out of every 180 days in the EU. Obviously to make this work they need to stamp our passports in and out so they can be checked when necessary. If just one country (other than Ireland due to the CTA) in the EU didn’t stamp our passports it would make the rule we signed up for unenforceable.I flew to Germany (Munich) 2 weeks ago and most of the problems are created by the European countries and what is either spiteful or just stupidly inefficient policies. Germany will ask the same of visitors from the United States or Caribbean countries. Your government asked for you to be treated as third-country citizens and this is one of the consequences. Not all European Union countries follow the same process; certain places in Spain and Portugal will allow you to use the electronic gates, for example, but you still need to have your passport stamped.I flew to Germany (Munich) 2 weeks ago and most of the problems are created by the European countries and what is either spiteful or just stupidly inefficient policies. Are you saying that the UK are the only nation that has to go through this lengthy process?why does Germany insist on these checks specifically for UK passport holders/UK flights?
Why when we all have barometric passports? I've been to the US, Mexico and Bahamas over the last 5 years and I've never been stamped out. The only place I have been stamped out is Spain and Germany over the last 2 years....You seem not to be aware of the rule we signed up to as part of the withdrawal agreement that we can no longer spend more than 90 days out of every 180 days in the EU. It’s what we voted for. No point blaming everyone else.
I know this is not true, when I went to Munich there was a sign which said the equivalent of UK passport holders left and everyone else right.Germany will ask the same of visitors from the United States or Caribbean countries. The U.K. could make life awkward and not allow European Union citizens to use the electronic gates upon arrival, but it prefers to allow it and says that it is facilitating smoother operations. There will be a degree of truth in that. However, there is another reason. If it started demanding physical checks, then it would have a problem because it has an acute employment problem and insufficient border staff. Go figure.

I don't know if this has something to do with the terminal at Munich airport as it seems all EU Lufthansa flights arrive at the same place and obviously we aren't in the EU anymore.
This will be a pain in the arse for city fans as I'm sure all the flights will arrive at more or less the same time.... There were two people on the border post when we arrived in the evening there!

We were also not in Schengen so when in the EU they had to check our passports somehow anyway so queues are still unavoidable and getting a stamp as part of that doesn't change much. What is a chore however is the weird new processes around the above, things that I haven't done when travelling to any other country so it just comes across as odd and spiteful.
You don't need to get stamped out of the USA for example? Do German nationals get stamped into the UK or can they use the automatic gates? I'd bet my house they can use the automatic gates so why can't we use theirs?
