I agree with this sentiment, a complete absence of any sense of solidarity unlike our continental counterparts

The EU is far from perfect but to just walk away, and assume we’d be better off in some way, was unquestionably a selfish act. And will cost us for decades.

As far as I can make out it was a charade to protect criminally laundered money in London and overseas tax havens from being covered by EU legislation and all the stuff about fish, immigration, funny shaped fruit etc was just a smokescreen to get people onside.

Like many seismic changes, other than the enduring collapse of the pound, the effects weren’t felt straight away. I think long term, the worst effects of ‘Project Fear’ have pretty much been realised, and will increasingly do so sadly.

The starting point of our decline as a nation is clear. Before we even left it was tearing things apart. Disrupting decades of stability. Some of those things have played their part too tbf, but Brexit is the main cause, without a doubt imo.

To be honest I think a lot of them were taken in by the propaganda, take the mail readers a constant stream of anti EU articles what’s sad is the mail and the express are still at it
