How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Most did a daft thing for daft reasons mate. I’m happy with the description. A minority had Machiavellian and selfish Motivations and they manipulated those too daft not to see through them.
I agree, most did, but I was specifically referring to a particular group that knowingly voted to make us worse off, not those that were manipulated to vote that way.

They were daft.

Such business people don't usually treat the "native population" much better if they can get away with it do they?

There's section of various diaspora population in the UK that encourage their compatriots to come over and exploit them in domestic servitude or illegal accomodation at inflated rates. It's not something to make light of, but it's not racism.

No but some of them will be racist I have even met a few. So every racist didn't vote brexit. You might not want to admit it but that's a character flaw not an argument.

That’s a gross over simplification, mate. Plenty of folk (for example) simply don’t want to be attached to Europe in that way, irrespective of the economic consequences. It’s visceral but also an honestly held belief that isn’t (necessarily) founded in stupidity.

Founded in ignorance then?

Obviously it can't be true that all racists voted for brexit. Some didn't vote. :) But what was the racist motivation for voting remain?

I'm invoking the no point talking to a brick wall clause. If you cannot think of a reason, I have mentioned one, then that makes you one huge dumb ass. But you're not so you just can't admit a simple mistake.

Carry on pretending you think not one single remain voter is racist. I care not a jot.

For along time people were warned of the consequences of voting to leave they ignored them, very few actually realised what they were actually voting for, they believed the lies of a group of snake oil salesmen to me that is the very definition of stupidity,

As I said exploiting labour isn't a racism, not unless they have reservations about doing the same to other races for moral reasons not just practical.

I'm not pretending, obviously they exist, it just wasn't a reason to vote remain.

And yes this is the brexit thread.

Or petty, vindictive stubbornness..

Just seen there are 91000 eligible asylum seekers who can now work because they’ve been in the system 1 year already, no way they solve that backlog, why not just have an amnesty on those people and the ones who are already working tax paying jobs and have a restart.

It may well be, but that’s conspicuously missing the point that I’m making, namely that some people simply didn’t want to be part of the EU, irrespective of the consequences of leaving, because of the visceral views they hold about sovereignty.

I clearly don’t agree with them , but I wouldn’t characterise them as stupid.
