Saying the figures are boosted by student numbers can only tell so much - how long are they staying? Or are universities getting in more overseas students because British students aren't going because they don't want the debt?

The Tories have managed to perform the illusion that they loathe "Johnny Foreigner" while relying on him at the same time for pretty much everything.

This illusion continue with the idea of nationalised industries. The Tories, the right, the Mail and the Torygraph (to name the obvious ones) can't abide the thought of returning to such Marxist concepts, yet they were all more than happy to look the other way and stay silent while pretty much every one of them was flogged off abroad to the very people they attack on an almost daily basis. It makes even less sense than the madness of Brexit.

And let me tell you how much I enjoyed waiting in a massive queue at Brussels Airport the other day clutching my old style maroon European passport but not being able to join the tiny EU Member States queue. I can't imagine the lunatic Cameron - who ushered in this shitshow before cowardly running off to sit in his shepherd's hut until the heat was off - has to do this.
