How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Let’s just vote to rejoin and have done with what was an horrendous mistake some of us made.

I voted for Brexit. I’m embarrassed I got drawn in by the bullshit. I’m sure if there was a vote tomorrow it would be 80% in favour of re joining.
Quite true but it is unlikely they would just let us in without lots of preconditions.

Don't worry mate come the general election you can vote for a party that promises to rejoin

60 / 40 at best at the moment. To get to 80 would need an obvious realisation that Brexit is impacting daily life. The lights going out while the EU stays lit because they cooperate might do it.

You can have Brexit, or you can have significant growth. You can't have both.

The bottom line is there are some people who hate foreigners so much that they would rather be poorer than be in the EU. In my view, anyone who wants their country to be poorer is a fool at best, and a traitor at worst. If you choose to make yourself poorer, for example giving up a well-paid job to be a busker, that only impacts you. If you choose to make your country poorer, that impacts every single citizen, as it means worse public services, higher taxes, or a bigger national debt. Or quite possibly, all three.

Anyway, the Government's claimed priorities are completely contradictory. It's like saying you love a woman, but you also want to kick her down the street and shag the woman she hates most in the world.

That's why I am convinced the 'growth' rhetoric is just that, rhetoric. They know their policies cannot work within the constraints they have set. They are in fact, trying to justify their policies which are about favouring the uber-rich, by claiming it will promote growth. Obviously, growth is attractive to voters, because nearly all of us want it. So it's a good con to try to work. But I might as well tell my wife that my eating strawberry jam will turn my hair dark again. It's complete bollocks, and anyone who understands reality must know it.
