So you agree that as the UK was not a signatory to the Shengen agreement .... we never agreed to Freedom of movement .... and that the failure to send home people who were unemployed for more than 6 months , Convicted of a criminal offence imprisonable by 12 months or more ... was the fault of the party who you support and vote for ?
We had the best of both worlds on a fucking plate.
Freedom of movement gives EU citizens the right to reside and work in other countries and applies to all EU citizens and countries. Shengen is the removal of internal border checks when travelling. The two things are not the same.
In the early 80s I had to have a 12 month British Visitors passport to visit Europe and enough money to support myself whilst there.Mate media studies IMHO isn't a skill, all you needed back in the day was no criminal record and a backbone and you could travel pretty most anywhere.
Oh, going to University isn't a measure of intelligence anymore. This isn't a dig at young people they are just young people I am just stating a fact that you could travel in the 60's and 70's without the permission of the EU.
A vote rooted in selfishness.
A higher proportion of older people actually voted so that skewed the vote, but age is definitely a factor. I hardly know any young people who wanted to leave, but the older generation like my wife's parents remember things as being better when they were young - ie before EU membership - and never understood what Europe was about.
Only when we are reduced to offering the BREGGING BOWL.I think the answer might be BRENTER.
We really have fucking blown it!We had the best of both worlds on a fucking plate.
No pound, no Schengen , the rebate and a veto and still had the freedom to live and work in the EU.
Total calamity

BRENTRY sounds much more dignified.I think the answer might be BRENTER.
