How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

In an answer you would never have imagined at the start of this thread - looks like we will fix things with Trumps "help"

No reaction from the 52%? Either they've given up trying to defend how they voted or are still too thick to realise the damage they have imposed on themselves.
Most of them have passed on, so they can't.

Some of my friends voted leave, and they are much quieter about it than they used to be.

If we had the referendum today, we'd be staying in.

There isn't any brexit bonus we'd lose because there aren't any.

Its almost like we don't have to say ''told you so'' anymore ....... the majority have found out for themselves. Their only pleasure now is hanging flags from lampposts.

I always felt it would be at least 30 years before we had another vote, the gap between the the EEC and EU referendums being 41 years, but the direction of travel in the US warrants the question being asked again.

It’s such a fundamental shift in our relationship with our previously closest ally that the question needs to be asked again in relation to our closest neighbours.

Thinks have shifted so profoundly, I think it’s reasonable to ask the question again at this stage. At least in principle. Think that needs to happen before the EU will countenance entering any meaningful discussions.

They are too busy working in all those jobs they couldn't get because brighter europeans took them.

Zelenskyy made one of the better arguments I've heard for the UK being in the EU, certainly better than anything I heard from our politicians in the build up to the referendum. If they put it out to a vote again they really need to do a proper job of selling it to the country instead of phoning it in again.

They’d want a ‘loony clause’ adding as well, meaning Farage, Lowe and the rest of the lunatics couldn’t renege on everything should we ever have the misfortune to elect the charlatans into power.

So ...... There is a company called BALTIC CAPITAL PARTNERS who offer individuals with loads of cash (high Net Worth) and businesses access to European Visas and European Residency

They are based in Lithuania and their marketing blurb says

''Discover Europe hassle-free! No visas mean stay as long as you want, with easy travel and endless adventures. Connecting with dozens of great cultures is as easy as a weekend away''

Thing is its owned / run by Aaron Banks of Leave EU fame (oh the irony) in his blurb Banks says

''When we meet, you'll be able to ask me anything you like about gaining EU residency through our VIP Gateway to Europe service, and I can explain to you all the many reasons I personally choose to live an EU lifestyle, how I did it, and what it looks like now for my family and I.''

If you voted for Brexit you were mugged but couldn't see it.... Brexit took away your right to free movement and the ability to retire to the EU should you want to.... however they retained it for the rich and wealthy.

Twat
Not you mate ;).
Best thing I did was to get my residency eighteen years ago

TBF I'd want a similar loony clause where the rubber faced racist is concerned

It is, they are not having us back in on the same terms. Closer ties on movement, trade and defence probably but rejoining the EU as a full member is out of the question.
The agreements will be constant changing thing so not resolved. Most likely we pay more and more for closer ties, until at some point in the future ,who knows when, a government is brave enough to realise we'd be better off as a member than paying to be a nearly member. Thats all guess work but for the matter and our agreement being resolved, hardly.

Germany is not letting us back in as an equal partner after working so hard to get us out.
