Ake was the surprise inclusion for me. Always thoughts its him or Stones. Would have liked a LB to challenge Mendy but can't complain. Expected a more high profile winger to replace Sane but not complaining at all about Torres, it's just going to take some time for him to deliver. Also fuck Napoli, Koulibalys value is going to be cut into half next year.

7/10 for me. the much needed LB would have made it an 8/9 and messi a 10/10! Dias seems a mountain and already a leader at the back and hopefully him and laporte can stay fit for our big games. Ake will be a signing who is hugely underrated and give us options in a few positions and ferran already has had some exciting moments that bode well for the future! i wonder if the club are seeing how the players are and keeping powder dry for january?

Very pleased with Ake, and Dias hopefully will be our version of van Dijk (Sunday excepted), galvanising the whole defence and making it better than the sum of its parts.
Torres I'm not sure of yet, too early to tell as he's only been here a few games. Nice goal already but looked ineffective against Leeds. I'm hoping he has more impact soon rather than becoming the new, slightly slower Navas. I wish we'd signed Sancho.
I still think we need a proper no nonsense left back and some pace and aggression in midfield. I wish we'd signed Partey.
Next year we need to buy Haaland or Hyeung-min Son to replace Aguero.

No club in World football made a number of serious investments with the notable exception of Chelsea.
It’s surprising how there is a dearth of talent around for LB and CH so we are not alone there.
Difficult, in this light, to know how we have done. The truth is it will depend how we do over the season compared to other teams.
We have lost some hard to replace players and in the next window we will be after a striker, a Fernandinho replacement and a left back. Those three positions will not be cheap or easy to find either.
It was a window where clubs basically said we will hold what we have and see what the World looks like in June.
