How does booing help?

Seriously can one of you "booers" explain this to me?
Can someone explain why we need to "help" a bunch of professionals paid tens of thousands of pounds a week?

If they're not performing to an acceptable standard then they need to know. If that doesn't get the message home to them then they need to be shipped out.

Say you went for an expensive meal and the courses all arrived at different times, were either burned or under-cooked and it generally tasted like shit, would you meekly say "That was lovely"?

Get behind the chef FFS.

Dinner wasn't cooked in a day.

So called diners like you should fuck off to McDonalds.

mate if you think following City is the same as some other form of social entertainment you like to pursue (eating out for instance) then I think that's the problem.
It's so much more than that for most of us (and I'd guess for you too), it's not comparable. Every action we as the fans take while at the ground (and to a certain extent on message boards) effects the team, management, owners etc and everyone should be mindful of their actions if they want us to succeed.

Comparing supporting City to having a scoff is a bit bizarre....City served up dog turd fo 35 yrs but i still continued to dine there....I cant change City but I can go to a different restaurant

Booing manager and players.

Cons:
- Applies pressure on the manager and players, possibly causing the latter to make mistakes in the game.
- Feeds the media fresh ammunition in their agenda against us.
- Potentially makes the owners consider uprooting the management side of the club again, thus hitting the reset button on another 12 months.

Pros:
- Feeds their fickle, wanky egos. Stay at home if you don't like it.

The deathly silent ground showed exactly what the supporters thought.

Booing is completely unnecessary.

I'm going to play devils advocate with this one. If you genuinely believed the club was going in the wrong direction should you do nothing or do something? i.e. If something/someone you love was cocking up. Do you just let it happen or attempt to intervene?
