That's less than 1.6 points a game. That will put us on 67 points for the season.
That would put us outside the top 4 in the last 5 seasons.
Anyone who thinks were safely top 4 is not looking at the facts.
When United were winning yesterday, top 4 was a major worry. Over the last 6 games their form is as good/bad/average as ours is.
With the way we are playing you wouldn't bet against us losing against spurs.
Fortunately, United didn't win, so a reasonable buffer remains. No team, apart from Leicester and to a point spurs, seem capable of putting any kind of run together, or showing the form that is required.
The fact that others around us continue to drop points, means we *probably* don't have to worry about top 4, too much. Yet, anyway.
The thing is, the entire complexion of the league could change next week, with the top 4 playing each other.
What's worrying is we just don't look like turning the corner. We haven't played well, across a whole 90 minutes, for months, and the injuries are piling up. Maybe a pointless stat, but we have conceded more goals at home that Sunderland, and Villa......that is not good, no matter how you look at it. At one point it was considered a positive that we have the 'big' teams (arsenal, Leicester, spurs) to come to us. However, the way we perform against the better sides is pretty abysmal, so it's just as likely we will lose to Spurs and Arsenal - to suggest otherwise would be naïve.
The form of others means, as I said, we should be pretty much safe for top 4. The league is still there if we actually find our form, but it just doesn't look like that is going to happen.
