How fast is Mario?

He has adequate, not explosive pace.

It doesn't really matter to be honest, as his game doesn't include pace at all. He works off of positioning and movement as a way of beating his man. In fact, I can't think of many times he has needed to use his pace in a City shirt. Maybe the Aston Villa goal in the FA Cup?

Yaya is definitely the quickest in the team. Maybe not over the first (off the mark), but when he gets going there is no one quicker. With Sergio and Balotelli I don't really believe there strengths lie in there pace. You don't see them scoring goals to often from skinning someone, as athletic as they are it's their technical ability that makes them shine.

Not quite.

One of Aguero's biggest attribute is his quick pace. Where he applies his pace is more often than not in closing down players, chasing down lost causes, etc.

Balotelli, I wouldn't pride him on his technical ability. Rarely do you see Balotelli really taking the ball and dribble it past a few. Obviously, from my personal observation, Balotelli's best attribute is his striking ability - as in his ability to strike a ball. Balotelli has deadly precision and accuracy when it comes to striking.

Also, one of the strongest attribute of Balotelli is his football brain. This is most obviously shown from the Everton goal.

Instead of driving into the box, Balotelli chooses to drift outside of the box and utilize his precision to score a goal. Note that this is a common movement from Mario. This football brain of his contributes to his movement off-the-ball.

Pardon the long read, but there are just a few things that I think should be clear about our strikers.

Believe me, he's quick when he wants to be.<br /><br />-- Sat Jan 21, 2012 12:26 pm --<br /><br />

I always knew Richards had pace and power but faster than Clichy and Aguero, I'm not having that.

As for Mario, I'm as clueless as the OP. Perhaps more so if Richards really is the fastest player in our team. I really don't think so, though.
Mate, how long have you been watching Micah LOL.

He's fast. Probably the fastest on the team, yeah.

Since he was a CB. So, a week or two, haha, no seriously, I can be a bit of a dopey bastard but I really never considered just how fast he is. Rapid, I know. He used to make up for some of his weaknesses by using his pace and putting in a great slide tackle.

Still, still, still. He'd beat Aguero in a race? I guess I just can't see it. I'm blind to differentiating footballers' pace.

I'd say Aguero's fast over 5 yards, he can leave people for dead over a short distance. I.e. his goal at spurs.

5 or 10 yards is fast enough, gives him enough time to get away from his man, In the likes of Aguero acceleration is much more important than pace,
As for Micah not being fast, when he had his dodgy spell a couple of years back how often did his pace pull him out of the shit.

Mario is that quick even the Hadron Collider cant catch him.

Very interesting. I like how Barry is the slowest, yet fittest.

I can deffo see the pace in Balo.. It's just that you have to give him a bit of a kick up the arse.

EDIT: What's with all thr 22.37MPH's?
