How Good/Bad Was.......Kevin Reeves

Same here, if i remember correctly the only time i completed city was the year they had 6 stickers on one of the first pages of a map of football grounds in the uk. No doubt some panini expert will tell us what year that was .
I only completed one album and that was the 1983 album .
I always liked the team badges and team photo .
I wish I'd kept my album from back then .
The year I did it , you also had what the referee would do in the picture .

Here's the last-minute winner against Leeds in December 1980:

Remember that quite well, as Leeds had come to 'park the bus', as people say these days. They were appallingly negative all afternoon. Poetic justice that they conceded when it looked as though they'd got the point they came for.

The game that spawned the song "you're worse than Leeds United" to any defensive team at Maime Road for the next couple of years.

I agree .
Trevor Francis was a good signing in 1981 .
Can't really say the same about Kevin Reeves in 1979 .
Peter Swales saw Kevin Reeves play for the England under 21 .

Especially as we sold Barnes and Owen for not much more for the pair of them. Fucking horrendous decisions at the time.

From what I remember I thought he played well alongside Trevor Francis probably as defenders were drawn to Francis and he got more space. Apart from his contribution to the cup run in '81 he was distinctly average.

Was in the Platt Lane that day...... most defensive display I have ever seen by a team

Great player, scored some crucial goals, great work rate, unselfish. Maybe in today's world he would be comparable to someone like Jovetic

Alan Clarke was Leeds' manager that day. Shockingly negative tactics.

I really liked Kevin Reeves. As others have said he wasn't especially quick, or strong, and didn't score enough goals for a striker, but he was very skillful, held the ball up well (notwithstanding his lack of strength) and was very good in the air for his height.

We overpaid for him, but when's that in itself ever stopped us appreciating a player?
