Thought he played his best football for us whe partnered by Trevor Francis.
Yeah I'd go with that assessment, not a top-class player but comparatively he was a much better buy than Daley who I thought was no more than a very average midfielder. He came with a big fee on his head , and was not the world beater we thought we had signed , but still a very decent player , a cultured player , and he was underrated , deceptively quick and would now interesting to see his stats in the modern terminology for assists and goals , he was not just a goalscorer , very clever lad , who could see a pass.
Reeves was a cracking player, ffs he didnt ask City to pay the fee so cant lay the blame on him for that. Always liked him and he scored some very good goals and always put in a shift. If he was in the current squad he would look much better
does anyone else remember if he did score the goal v liverpool in the league cup semi in 81 which was ruled out by alf grey..and no one knows why, leading to our defeat over two legs.
think it was a header.or have i dreamt that up...?
Yes it was Kevin who scored, the official excuse was that he had his trailing arm in the defenders back when he headed it in, I've viewed it a few times the back of his hand is on his back but no force whatsoever, at the time everybody was celebrating including 3 qtrs of the side, whilst grey allowed Liverpool to take a quick free kick I can visualise it even now, grey was sprinting alongside the Liverpool players as if he was urging them forward, luckily for city Tommy Caton realised what was happening and managed to put it out of play, grey was on a level of Walton Wilkie and foy an utter liar and a cheatdoes anyone else remember if he did score the goal v liverpool in the league cup semi in 81 which was ruled out by alf grey..and no one knows why, leading to our defeat over two legs.

Didn't the referee say in the press that it was disallowed for "illegal jumping"?
I can actually still feel a twinge of pain about that decision 35 years later.
