How important is the PL title actually?

Champions of England or Champions of an entire Continent? I know why many England football fans are apathetic towards the World Cup / European Championships but, on paper, Champions of Europe seems the higher honour.

The words of an accountant not a football fan, fans want their club to win trophies, the title is the ultimate prize,it means your the best team in England.

Then there is the scenario of winning the largest number of domestic trophies of any club in history, nine titles on the bounce but winning absolutely bugger-all in Europe, (then going into administration.)

It is if you have already proven yourselves to be the best at home.

While I obviously wouldn't turn down the chance to win the Champions League, doing so without having first been crowned champions of England would leave it feeling slightly hollow.

The dippers can bang on all they like about that 5th European Cup in Istanbul, but they've not been champions of their own country for 22 years, so they can go and swivel!!

Course it's important, it's what it's all about at the end of the day. That said as long as we keep finishing in the CL spots then the show will continue to go on and if we don't win it this year then we go and have a good crack at it next year, and we'll probably be stronger. It's not as though this is our only chance at it, we come back and try again. Last season when spurs missed out on a CL place some people made out as though that was that, but redknapp just said that they'll go again next season and they look like they'll probably get it this time. That's what we need to do but for the title, and it's what we will do

rags win the league = glazers keep their purse shut.
ffp means we need a constant stream of euro income to strengthen the side.
fortunately, we dont have to choose between winning the prem or winning the CL.
those who say RM will have failed by coming second are wishful thinkers/mourinho cheerleaders.
PB called it right about the sick swan and i think he is spot on with this, money means better players equals better results means more money etc. the most successful clubs have done it since real madrid won the european cup 5 times on the trot. Buying the best players also weakens the opposition.
Those who disdain the CL ignore the gap between the prem and the continental leagues, technically and tactically the prem is weakening as they get stronger.
Come on Fulham, do football a favour and shut the bastards up .
