I'm not sure wether it was you or another mod who started a thread like that yesterday & we NEARLY had a football thread on our hands, but the same scrotes ripped it to fuckin bits.
I fuckin miss those type of threads bigtime.

Yeah, it was mine. The one titled "I don't care that we've drawn 7 on the trot".

Unfortunately, there will always be posters on both sides of any argument that will twist things to their advantage. In the case of the Hughes debate those who are against him will jump on anything bad happening at the club and blame it on him, and those who are in favour of him will accuse others of being rags and not 'proper' fans. What both sides of the debate should realise is that as soon as you resort to this kind of stuff it just weakens your argument rather than strengthen it.

its right is this, mod guy sayz what he wants us lot gets it large. hughes top geezer.

Dreadful thread lol - one of the worst...

Totally agree with:

If a manager is going to cause this much shite amongst the fans, I say it's another reason to get-rid!

This cannot be allowed to continue. It simply cannot. I am starting to lose the will to be blue... And that is something I never would have imagined, even as we tumbled down the divisions.

The battle lines are too deeply drawn for either side to pull back it seems, although personally I would love Hughes to prove me wrong. It seems that those on the other side of the divide have backed themselves into a corner though where even dreadful performance on the field is not enough to sway them, and I am not sure how these differences can be resolved.

Either we improve on the field immediately or the owner sacks him - otherwise this shit will carry on forever.

Bluemanc - I share your frustration with a lot of stuff which has been posted on bluemoon since pretty much the day Hughes arrived. The fervor with which he's been attacked at times has been staggering. People have over analyzed everything, and have tried to put a negative spin on everything he has done.

Personally I think much of it is linked to the fact that he was brought in by Dr Shinawatra to replace Sven, someone who had rightly or wrongly become a genuine fans favourite at City.

The problem you've got now, is that if you just blindly entrench yourself in the "we shouldn't criticize Mark Hughes" position, you're not going to see the genuine cracks. I think they are appearing now, not because of how bad he is, but because this City job is monumental. The expectation is monumental. The scrutiny is unbelievable. The egos are some of the biggest in world football. The dressing room is probably one of the toughest in world football. That's not a criticism of the players either, just a fact.

Hughes is still a very good manager IMO - but this job - is possibly a little too much too early for him.

To the OP - this is basically the argument that a lot of 'Hughes Outers' subscribe. I hate the term 'Hughes Outer' myself, and regard myself as a sceptic, not thinking he's the man for us in the long term. But he quite clearly isn't a totally inept football manager and some of the foam at the mouth criticism to which he's subjected is ludicrous. Where is the happy medium on this board?
