How low will the Hughes outers go

Bluemanc - I share your frustration with a lot of stuff which has been posted on bluemoon since pretty much the day Hughes arrived. The fervor with which he's been attacked at times has been staggering. People have over analyzed everything, and have tried to put a negative spin on everything he has done.

Personally I think much of it is linked to the fact that he was brought in by Dr Shinawatra to replace Sven, someone who had rightly or wrongly become a genuine fans favourite at City.

The problem you've got now, is that if you just blindly entrench yourself in the "we shouldn't criticize Mark Hughes" position, you're not going to see the genuine cracks. I think they are appearing now, not because of how bad he is, but because this City job is monumental. The expectation is monumental. The scrutiny is unbelievable. The egos are some of the biggest in world football. The dressing room is probably one of the toughest in world football. That's not a criticism of the players either, just a fact.

Hughes is still a very good manager IMO - but this job - is possibly a little too much too early for him.
The problem is Billy we don't get a chance to debate anything anymore.
I've been involved along with you & a few of the usual suspects in the past some really provocative threads but i never saw any of us making stuff up or telling lie after lie to suit our agenda.
It's like politics on here at the minute,we need some wins pronto.
When was the last time we were able to have a thread that resembled a debate ??just have a look at the board & see the state of it,the lunatics are trying to take over the gaff.
It seems that a world away from our 1st 5 games on here, this board was uptil a few weeks ago a pleasure to come on but as soon as we had a few draws it was like the board had the plague or something,i've just ended up giving them the same shit as they give out but that tbh is probaly the wrong thing to do.
I'm certainly not going to fuck off & leave them to it like a lot have.

I do wish that people would stop peddling the myth that everyone who doesn't rate Hughes has never liked him/never given him a chance. There may be a small number of people like that, but for the vast majority it's about results. My gut instinct told me that this job was too big for him and the pressures/challenges he faced managing a club like Blackburn would be insignificant to the ones he faces here. I, like many others, have pushed these doubts to the back of my mind in the hope that he would grow into the job. This doesn't seem to be happening does it? This is why he's under pressure. Nothing to do with disliking the guy personally or resenting his past associations.

There's nothing you or I can do, but try and talk about things in an objective way...Hughes was never as bad a manager as has been made out on here.

Its not a lttle bit too much he is way out of his depth and comfort zone. If you read about MH he never has been a confident person apart from when actually playing on the pitch. I've read his old team mates saying he very rarely talked and was very shy very rarely gave interviews or was involded in team talks but he changed into a different person when playing.

The pressure on him at the minute is deserved but also must be hard for him to take what with the boo's, the team not performing for him, constant press speculation and spotlight on him.

I dont believe any City fan would want there own team to lose a game. If they did they need putting down.

Of course not but us losing could mean a better future for the club but only if it leads to Hughes getting fired
