never enough and less than normal at the moment because my wife keeps mithering for sex..........I wish, the real reason is my 4 yo and 2 yo have just got bunk beds and life is one big party at the moment!!!
I always used to get 5-6, but in the last couple of weeks I'm made a conscious effort to get 8-9 and it makes such a difference. I feel happier, more patience, less grouchy, bigger attention span, etc.
My brain seems to fight it. during the week I'm up till about 11 ish then switch everything off and I can lie awake for sometimes hours sometimes a few minutes.
Think I'm a bit insomniac. My alarm goes off at 5.30 and I'm up for 6.
Weekends can be anything from 11 till 8 to 11 to midday.
I need at least 6 hours or I can't really function. I usually pull an all nighter at least once a week though as sleep doesn't come easy to me unless I sedate myself.
Funnily enough I tried some pillow spray (courtesy of the Liverpool Crowne Plaza last week). It's supposed to mellow you the fuck out but, as a normally good sleeper, I found myself awake 3 or 4 times last night.
I need about 8 hours kip but usually go to bed too late and get 6.
