How many more people will now become City fans?

with their 26’000 season ticket holders and token gestures to keep spirit of shankly quiet, those days are gone for every successful club bar none, I’d rather our owners didn’t even attempt the charade I see at Lfc
10,000 tickets over the season at £9 for adults with an ‘L’ post code and £9 for all under 16s in all stands in the ground for all PL games, are not token gestures.

Doing it for one game would be a token gesture. They do this all season, every season. And as much as I can’t stand Liverpool, I think that’s a brilliant initiative they have there.

We're gaining fans everywhere. When I emigrated to Oz thirty odd years ago they called the rags "Manchester", like they weren't aware of us at all. (must admit I hated that)....Sometimes I got asked which team I supported I said Manchester City and they looked at me like I got it wrong and should've said United.

It's changed quite a bit since the 80's though and now City are gaining lots of young fans here. I see lads wearing City shirts around the Gold Coast...So for me living abroad it's all positives. Bring it on.
I didn’t know David pleat was in australia

Jesus wept! What have I walked into in ere? I hope we don’t judge our players, management & owners by the same yardstick we do our supporters. I’ve been a blue for over 35yrs, have no links to Manchester (unchecked) as the crow flies live just shy of 25 miles from the Etihad (just checked) and don’t own a cagoule, that qualifies me as a what? The way some are talking we should’ve stayed at Maine road, and closed memberships to anyone outside the borough, utter madness when you consider we’ve just witnessed some of the best atmospheres at the Etihad
Therefore, it’s bloody obvious I’m not taking about you.

Most of those tickets get sold on to out of towners, starting at £150 upwards.

I think more of the very cheap tickets made available to coach loads of school kids should go to schools with local postcodes.

Im sure you’re well aware the 10’000 tickets are out of over half a million available (500+ a game) and is used in all likelihood to keep the locals quiet, there’s no way of quantifying how many kids get in Anfield on a match day but by all accounts it’s a closed shop and the percentage is low, I’d hazard a guess one adult one child prices at City (in the family stand) stack up pretty well when comparing, and available to all, but you’re right they are great initiatives if you live in the area or a child lucky enough to have an L postcode. But therein lies the problem, these things are divisive, they create tiers in the support, they’re accelerating the notion of legacy fans etc.

The point I’m making PC, is it makes me a blue, because that’s what I am, it’s what I chose to be, I know some might say the club chose them, it’s their birthright and so on, but if somebody chooses to be a City fan, then for me they’re a City fan, end of story really. Do I like some of the antics of a small portion of our support, No! In fact a lot of it does my head in, especially the selfies when stood on the steps 5 minutes into a game. I don’t want it to seem like I’ve jumped in the thread & taken umbrage with you mate, yours was one of the first posts I read, you’re honestly one of my favourite posters on ere, passionate, straight to the point, knowledgeable and very witty, it’s just the very reason our club is so great is the fact we aren’t the rags, we welcome all comers, we’ve always been the alternatives, we don’t (usually) turn on each other at Wembley or fight with different factions of our own support, we’ll never be them, we are better than that and always will be, because we are City

How spooky is this. Just having my morning coffee at my favorite watering hole here and a mother and son just walked in and the little chap is sporting a city shirt with Haaland on the back. Another fan for the future.

Nevermind 'all over the world' fans, in my local Asda, the flooding of Blue shirts has taken me by surprise. Sure during end of season I, normally, see the odd shirt, but this year has been astounding!

Young to old, fathers and sons, mothers and daughters; all sporting Man City wear and, scarcely any red!

Can't get used to it!
