How many points to win the league?

[QUOTus breaking theE="joe123, post: 10779556, member: 4012"]mate just told me we can lose 3 and draw 1 and still break the points record (not sure if true)

if true, that's mental.[/QUOTE]
Don't see us breaking the record because we should win the league way early. Can't see anyone posting more than 85 even with a fair wind maybe 82/83. So about 5 wins and 2 draws should be more than enough. Indeed if we win the next two games I think a win or even a point against the Rags may take us across the line in early April.

They won’t do that cos if they drop points there’s every chance their top 4 spot is in danger
Yes, that’s why I was disappointed to see the chavs drop 3 points yesterday to be honest.

Need as many teams within catching distance of them as possible, for as long as possible, just to keep things “interesting”

If we can win the league early then fuck the points record. Rotate and save our best 11 for the FA Cup and CL. Need to make the most of not needing to win league games and give squad players including some from the cademy more exposure and experience which will only serve us well in the long term.

If we keep playing our strongest side just for a points record we risk ruining them ahead of a world cup with little recovery before we do it all again. Teams are resorting to kicking the shit out of us now.

Hope you’re right mate. I’ve been a blue for a bloody long time, and I guess, as is the case for a lot of “more experienced blues”, a bit of built in pessimism goes with the territory, and has done for years.

Ideally I would love to think we could get it done a week before the rags come to our place. To see both their fans and players squirming, like they’d just sh*t themselves, as the traditional pre-match guard of honour took place would simply be the icing on the dog’s b*llox.
If we're in a good position by the time we play them, I'd love Pep to play an academy side against them just to highlight our dominance over them.

8 wins sees us home but I think 5 or 6 wins will seal the title for us. Pressure is already off and what we need to do is get our injured players back. Should be OK to see of Basel but then the matter of the QF of the Champions League really kicks in and we really need to have the bulk of the squad back by then. The FA cup draw shouldn't be taken for granted but that has been a blessing for us!

With 12 games to go, and us 15pts in front of the rags. This means that we need another 6 wins out of the remaining 12 games to win the league. So win all out home games and the title is ours. However I say let's go and win the last 12 games and set a new points record that will need some beating.
As long we match the rags results, better still better them, till the end of March. This will mean that we will be CHAMPIONS, by the time the derby comes around in April. can you see Jose's face when the rags have to give us a guard of honour onto the pitch at the Etithad Stadium for the derby game
