Does pep now stick with his player rotation for the next 2 league games ?
Villa midweek before league Cup final and Palace Saturday before a possible champs league semi. I think he has to take a risk play full strength at villa and hope everyone is fit for the final.
I suppose the Palace game all depends on Wednesday result as if we go out then it will be full strength against Palace. If we go through a massive decision for pep again

Apologies for posting this in two different threads but it seems valid to both (or not if you disagree)

There is a lot of blues in fighting due to is the league won or not.

Satististically of course it’s not. But if statistics are the starting point then it’s valid to look at the probability too. Objectively it’s over 99% that City win the league and obviously that leaves 1% that City don’t.

So the guys saying it’s not over are correct.

However those that are saying it’s virtually won are by the same statistical criteria also correct.

It‘s not arrogant to say the second point as it’s objectively true and something we would say if another club were this far ahead in all probability.

The disagreement comes from a fear of being laughed at either way IMHO.It doesn’t matter because what anyone believes will not affect the eventual outcome.

We haven’t won the league yet but its very likely we will. That’s it. Some people will enjoy the ride others won’t and neither is wrong because people are different.

Im not trying to change anyone’s mind here just that the different takes don’t have to be so extreme as there is a middle ground.

That is just not true. Only one of those is right. The league is not won.

When it is won, the other will be right too.

Otherwise, it is just an argument of adjectives. Virtually, probably, most likely, very likely, highly likely, objectively, pretty much, almost; who gives a fuck. Many posters aren't even using one, just calling it done.

It isn't a reaction to yesterday, I've thought the same before yesterday. And I'm ok with that game being lost and How it was lost, in the bigger picture. It also isn't fear of being laughed at. Or trying to be 'the bigger blue'. It is simply not being bullish, thats all. We are on track, in a great position. I can enjoy the upcoming games one by one without writing the rest of the league off or dismissing the remaining games.

I'd have expected a few squad players in the cup final either way, he is consistent in playing squad players in that competition.

That's a good point but it is hard to tell whether the league is won at 99 or 90 %.

How likely was that Leeds with 10 men for 50 minutes and 29 conceded shots would win at the Etihad? 99 or 90 %?

Shit happens all the time, especially this season. Liverpool lost 6 home games in a row while scoring only one goal. How likely was that? 0,01%? The highly improbable is not impossible. It happens sometimes.

Those claiming it was done were wrong. What's worse is them calling people who are saying it's not over until its over flappers, betwetters, etc.

There is a very small chance that we won't win it. Accept it. Uncertainty is painful for some folks: learn to live with it.

We are in a fantastic position right now and would be very happy to be in that position at the start of the season. Who knows, the loss yesterday may be for good, we don't know yet. The road to multiple trophies is more likely to be bumpy and involve setbacks than be smooth and straighforward.
Very sensible analysis. Before yesterday I had little or no interest in how the rags got on but I will keep a quiet eye on their next two games now. All the evidence suggests they will falter at some stage and we will get the points we need but you just never know. I don't think it could happen but the nightmare that would ensue if it did is always at the back of ones mind.

Good point. But in the semi. He played steffen in net and dinho instead of rodri. With the exception of sterling the rest are our first team starters for me

True, but in fairness, apart from ake and possibly mendy, the rest were first team starters yesterday too.

that’s why today was a big mistake from pep? Made far too many changes in one go and expected out of form players or players who haven’t played for a while to come together and just perform?
Which looking at the chances up until the final pass or shot we did, the selection was a winning selection the execution of the players was the fault, we could of easily won that game by a country mile but for the final ball, /finishing

Maybe
Torres and sterling aren't Jesus 50/50 depending on how you play
Zinch playing in a position he hasn't played an awful lot in plus as you said ake and mendy
