How much do you earn ?

13-14k (embarassing comparing to most of you guys!)

it`s full time and not a minimum wage (it`s not a factory, no cleaning, no washing pots etc.)
not getting any benefits at all, renting flat from agency (£475 plus £150 council tax- South Lanarkshire, plus bills of course), thanks God i go flatmate to share costs! About £100 a month for commuting.
No way I can afford living by myself, no way of saving up for mortgage deposit but tbh I`m not convinced to seetle for live here yet- but that can come at any moment ;)
but it`s still a decent quality of living i must say- holidays at least twice every year (visiting homeland couple of times a year not to mention), I don`t have to borrow money, do not have save on food or anything, got plasma, two laptops, playstation, mobiles, loads of books, dvds (and still spending on it) and stuff like that :)
But no savings tbh and a little minus on credit card.
but I`m single and that makes a difference i think, no way I could start a family with the income like this.
80-90% of my money I spend in Britain.

I think I crushed some myths about Polish workers taking over best british jobs, don`t ya think? :)

And now tell me, honestly, how many of your unemployed English friends would take the job like this?

More power to you UP. I work with quite a few Poles and Latvians and they love working and living here. They have a standard of living that they could never attain at home on a similar wage to you and always seem to enjoy their time off, going out at weekends etc. We've all just been hit with a 5% decrease in our wages too but when I was talking to them about it they just shrugged their shoulders and said they'd rather have a little less and a job when most of the English employees were tearing their hair out and screaming and shouting about it.

On a decent wage now but leave the forces in 19 months. Fortunate i will have my milatary pension and will be mortgage free. Not bad for 40 so only want a part time job. Wife earns slightly less than me so we are in a comftable position. At work i am known as a DINK - Double income no kids

-- Fri Nov 12, 2010 8:55 am --

On a decent wage now but leave the forces in 19 months. Don't know if anyone else is the same but the older I get, the less money matters.

Eg I used to wear brand name clothes like diesel Hugo boss etc, spend ridiculous amounts of money on clothes and this was when I couldn't really afford them.

Now I can afford them, I'm not bothered about them. Same with cars. I don't waste money as much as I did. I'm far more bothered now about saving for my family and just enjoying life day by day. Had an amazing day today with my daughter and it's cost me precisely nothing.

I've got everything I want at the moment - now it's all about trying to hold onto it.

Money really isn't important at all.

This. Used to matter about cars & stuff. Now I'd rather drive an old banger. Any money in the bank is money for my son's future.

Looks like I get the least at £808 a month, just under £10,000 a year.

Is that a small fortune out there pal

Well...It is for the indigenous population (about $100 a month), and a lot of the white collar workers ( doctors, dentist, bank managers earn $1000 a month) however it pales into insignificance when you talk about the 'farmers'

I live very well, 3 bed apartment in the centre of the city, maid, food and bills comes to about £500 a month the rest I spend eating and drinking. My biggest expensive is my internet connection a one meg connect costs £70 a month!
