I'm 54 and I can honsetly say for 40 of those years I have despised and detested everything that club has stood for. From the colour of their shirts, to the name of their ground and even the names of current and former players - hate is not strong enough to describe how I feel about them.

I think it's made worse by the fact that around here you never ever meet genuine rag fans. Blokes that make the effort and spend the money to go up to the swamp to watch the vile bastards. All you ever get are the plastic fuckers with their shirts and Sky membership who've 'supported' the vermin since the 90's, and know absolutely nothing about football pre-Premiership.

The true hatred that some of our older support have often goes over my head. Since I became a football fan, that lot have always been more successful than us and much of their own rivalry was with Liverpool. Chelsea and Arsenal. It's a way of life that I've accepted because it's been the norm for as far as I can remember. Things are obviously changing now and they're beginning to look over their shoulder.

I'd rather channel my energies in to supporting City over anything else.
