How to bulk up?

Thinking of starting taking creatine again but bit worried after reading it can cause diarrhoea.
As I have ibs I don't need anything else making me shit more than I already do!
Will it be ok for me to take or am I best off avoiding it?

Try not loading bud just have it once a day. See how you go if it causes no problem then load up as stated on the tub.

Sprained my wrist about 8 weeks ago. Wear a wrist support and taking tablets to repair but still the pain persists. I can do certain weights in gym but not all, it's really annoying me now.

Bulking is simple really and everyone is different in terms of required macros in order to bulk. I'd require 3700 kcal per day due to my height, weight and activity level and so on. I'd recommend bulking for 12-18 months trying to gain about half lb a week. The hardest thing about bulking is trading abs for fat it's unavoidable. But if you look at the bigger picture when you cut back you'll look better.

Have a plan a stick to it.

In the spirit of the above post answering the thread title, Johnsonontheleft started this thread in 2012. Did he ever bulk up?

Did a mad arm workout with the gym boss yesterday, crazy how doing reps really slowly and strictly works. Did't use a dumbell larger than 5kg for the entire workout and still came out feeling like my arms were bigger than Arnold's.

doing the exact same thing, my technique wasn't great so focused on lifting properly and with light weights. unless I can fully lift a weight without straining then I'm not moving up in weights. The difference is amazing, but very challenging especially lifting slower.

question, when doing chest press with a bar, should i be putting my upper back/shoulders back and have a slight arch in my back ?

I 've been taking it for a couple of months now, no problems with the stomach. 5 grams of monohydrate creatine every morning with a pint of water. I feel it gives a good effect on those last reps.

Just a short interjection..(I ain't going through 169 pages) is 'bulking up' anything more than egotistic self glorification? - Don't get me wrong, keeping fit is great etc. But getting bigger? why? for your own psychology? I simply do not get it.. unless you like fighting.

Slight being the operative word - you see powerlifters doing this:

but all that achieves is limiting the range of motion, enabling them to lift heavier weights, if you're concentrating on your form, bum and shoulders should be in contact with the bench, like this:

note feet are flat on the floor, stabilising you. Also, squeeze the shoulder blades together, this apparently protects your shoulder joint, although I'm sure FI will be here shortly to tell us otherwise!
