How to play against Barcelona?

Alexis Sanchez looks really good playing wide right!
Kolorov will have his work cut out dealing with this fella! ..Clichy might be a better bet?
Switches wide left at random intervals!
Looks a real threat!

No way... would still go with Aleks with the form he is in... he is still looking a better defender than last season and improving...would play Clichy against Chelsea a few days before!

I'm impressed by their ball control, work off the ball, speed of thought - decision making etc.
Messis gonna be a problem all right!
They've got quality all over the park But Malaga aren't great to be fair!
Think our front 2 can scare the shit out of their central defence if they get the service!
They won't fancy dealing with Negredo, Vinny & Yaya at set pieces and corners either!

I didn't think 4 months ago I'd be saying this but AK needs to play against Barca.

The form he's in and his attacking strength is a must in this game, there'll be space to exploit on his side with Sanchez not well known for tracking back and mucking in.

Not that it'll happen (because it never does), but one thing I would absolutely love is a strong, even-handed referee for both legs of this tie. If the first few players on either side (but, realistically, their side as Micah probably won't be playing) hit the deck from non-existent/minimal contact and are told to get up, it'll set the tone and hopefully avoid 180 minutes peppered with stoppages and gamesmanship.

If we go with 2 up top then our chances of progressing go from about a 45/55 to a 25/75 imo.

There is no way we'll be able to impose ourselves on the game when we'll only have about 20% possession to work with (and that's all it will be if we go 2 up top).

Navas, Silva and Nasri/Jovetic as the 3 behind Aguero is our only real option for me. That's an attacking 4 that would allow us to retain possession much more easily, without losing too much attacking threat.

Fernandinho is by far our most important player in this tie. He will have to cover ridiculous amounts of ground over the 2 legs for us to get anything.

Would you play Silva behind Aguero for this one? I've been thinking, and since Nasris out will we come out like this?

Hart

Zabaleta. Kompany. Nastacic. Kolarov

Yaya. Fernandiniho.

Navas. Silva. Milner

Aguero

I like the protection that would give Kolarov, but something tells me Pellegrini will go 4-2-2-2 anyway.

Shit, just remembered, Milners suspended! Jovetic instead of Milner or Negredo up front with Kun it will have to be.
