I read the whole piece over the weekend PB and found it easy enough to understand. It's a great piece of work.
It saddens me though that the game of football has come to this. I find supporting City a bit of a paradox at the moment.
I would like nothing more than City to take them on legally and bring the whole house of cards down. I would rather see the hyprocritical nature of the so called G7 examined and scrutinised with the same fervour and UEFA's corruption, whether it be under coercion or not, exposed to the public.
It's not going to happen though.
1. The media would not row in with the same gusto.
2. I don't think City's owners particularly want to do this. They want to be part of the future, whatever form it will take.
I'm not sure how comfortable I am in seeing City get into bed with this lot in order to win the UCL or Super Cup, or in bed with a CWC group if it comes to that.
Football is being fought behind the scenes in the murkiness of boardrooms and it is not a sport anymore. It used to have a semblance of a sport but nowadays it's like a war.
The amount of propaganda we are seing at the moment is all part of this war.
I was talking to my 16 year old at the weekend about this and he sees it all over the social media and doesn't read it anymore.
I explained to him that we as City fans seem to be the only ones, at times, that actually have to go and research the subject so that we are armed with the actual facts, just to defend ourselves and our team. Dippers and Rags are by and large lazy when it comes to football knowledge as they are constantly fed a narrative that makes them feel good about themselves. They don't have to check facts as their teams are not being attacked. Currently, they are given excuses for not being able to compete. even though we are not even halfway through the season and there is only two points between 1st and 2nd.
They have their history, they are constantly reminding us as they are constantly reinforced with this concept through the media.
But they are too lazy to actually look at the facts of that history. Their parts in why football has evolved into this rotten business. It doesn't fit the current narrative in this propaganda war, so it suits all involved to ignore the unsavoury bits.
We as City fans need to inform ourselves as we are constantly attacked. But I keep asking myself lately, even if we win, do I really want us to be part of this sorry mess.
I'm sure I'll cheer up when we lift the PL trophy again in May.
Well spoken sir.
