How UEFA shifted the goalposts on FFP. The definitive story.

  1. I was always against the idea of a breakaway league until the 'big cartel' group of clubs which featured on MOTD wanted to go their own way, the argument being that as these bigger clubs appeared on TV far more than the other clubs then they should get the major share of the TV money instead of it being divided amongst all 92 clubs of the Football League. In other words, Bury, Rochdale and the like could go and get stuffed while the Cartel would become fatter. Once the EPL became the controllers of the English game, my own attitude changed and I have seen plenty of tweaking to make sure that the Cartel stays where it is. But what these clubs didn't realise at the time was that the game would soon attract wealthy overseas individuals, persons with an eye on the high revenues that would come firstly by TV coverage and as a result of this, high sponsorship deals. At first, this was greeted with interest as Chelsea's Russian owner threw his cash into the ring and 'bought' trophies. This wasn't popular with the media or the leading lights but it was persevered with, especially as City became the next club with seriously rich backers but without the charismatic manager or signings that big investment should make. So for a couple of seasons, we were laughed at with the jibes that 'money couldn't buy trophies', but that all changed with Kun's goal and from then on, the world has seemingly been against us and all sorts of allegations have been aimed at our club. So from a position all those years ago when the EPL told the FL where to go, the EPL, UEFA, FIFA, or whoever have claimed it just isn't fair and rather than watching in awe at the drive towards perfection that our club is attempting, they are doing their best to put a spanner in the works and not with any serious attempt to surpass the status that we have attained, but instead it is a blatant attempt to reverse the situation to what it was before Sheikh Mansour was even heard of. Now that there has been talk of a breakaway European League, it's not a thing I would personally wish for but if it ever did come about then we'd better damn well make sure that we are in it and without the constraints of FIFA, UEFA, the EPL or our very own FA and we can then reshape the game for the modern age rather than being stuck in the early 1900's.

I find it odd as well as disappointing that our wonderful media have totally ignored PB's article.
I would have expected at least one journo to have reported on it.

Well I'm on XS Manchester tonight with Ian Cheeseman between 6 and 7. So some of them aren't ignoring it.

I am still confused. We have owners who make a profit, we have the best youth set up in the world and they have rejuvenated East Manchester and play the best football ever seen in the UK. You would think that we would be praised for the work being done and yet all that is happening is the 'establishment' just want to drag us down and destroy us. Not a word of praise from anyone. No newspapers, no media, nobody.

Completely unbelievable.

Because reporting now has changed it’s about clicks and all the media support a club with the majority not city supporters so it’s jealousy and bitterness that warps them!

Jealousy is an ugly trait

For those wondering why journalists didn't ask why we thought UEFA had fucked us over, Jonathon Swift knew why: "Falsehood flies, and the Truth comes limping after."

I've specifically asked a number of journalists reporting on this their thoughts on the retrospective changes that ensured city failed ffp
More than one has blocked me for that simple question
