How will Pep set us up?

Just wondered what anybody thinks of the fact that many ppl say Pep has only been sucessful because he has taken over teams that are already supertalented, in other words he could hardly have failed. Will he be able to weave his magic instantly at City if this is the case ???

He could quite easily have failed as many managers at the top level do.

At Barca he still had to compete with the big spending Madrid and he left the club in a position to dominate years after he had left.

At Bayern he has won consecutive league titles, is in with a shout of the CL and has replaced some of their aging players with a top class bunch of young players who will be able to carry on their success.

Getting to the top is the easy part, sustaining it is the challenge something Pep has mastered.

I think that is going to come out in the press at the start of the season, they will be hoping we fail and that Pep is a flop in the prem.

I personally think his real value is in working closer to the team and getting their passion going, something we have lacked under Pellers, so to a degree it doesnt matter what team he has, he can make them work.

Edit- Having said that we do have the basis of a very very good team and should be able to make it work from the start, even without spending too much.

World Class XI. Midfield to rival the likes of Barca, Bayern, PSG.

Thoughts?
I'd go for this personally:

In (£120m):
Ron Robert Zieler (homegrown goalkeeper): £5-10m
Jason Denayer (returning from Galatasary loan): £0m
Leandro Bonucci (experienced CL level defender, Pep admires him, would be great cover for Kompany): £25-30m
Jetro Willems (young full back, highly rated at PSV): £15-20m
Ilkay Gundogan (apparently it's "99.9999999%" done): £25m
Granit Xhaka (has practically begged us to sign him): £25-35m

Out:
Willy Caballero
Bacary Sagna / Pablo Zabaleta
Martin Demichelis
Aleksandar Kolarov
Wilfried Bony

Other potential incomings: Aymeric Laporte, Jose Gaya, Juan Bernat, Isco, Paul Pogba, Julian Weigl
Other potential outgoings: Eliaquim Mangala, Fernando, Jesus Navas

Like this too although I'm weary of another CB, really not a fan of us spending £30m~ on one every summer. What we have right now(Denayer for Demi) is superb. Just needs proper coaching. Also swap Xhaka with Dinho.

Guessing something along the lines of

Valdes 0m
Laporte 39m
Kroos 30m?
Pogba 70m
Gundogan 23m
Gomez 5m

Pep doesn't even know how he'll set up next season and he won't know until he finds out who of his transfer targets he's managed to secure come day 1 of next season. So if the man himself doesn't know at this stage, I don't know how the fuck some people on here think they know what the set up will be. Sorry for telling it like it is but just saying... Pointless thread.

Aguero-Aguero
Silva-Fernandinho-Fernandinho-Silva
Kompany-Kompany-Kompany-Kompany
Messi in goal

Hart
Ox - Vinny - Ota - Delph
Dinho - Gundogan - Pogba
KDB - Aguero - Sterling

GK
Zab - Denayer - Mangala - Clichy
Nasri - Weigl - Silva
Navas - Inhenacho - Sane

Gunn, Angelino, A.Garcia, M.Garcia, Barker, Ambrose and probably one or two more youngsters in the squad for League Cup games and bottom half team in the league.
