How would we react?

For me they would be sacked on the spot, how embarrassing was it to see the support Suarez got last night, made me disgusted

Wouldn't back them. I'd want them out ASAP. They're a fucking disgrace!

It's a piece of piss saying that when it doesn't happen to us.

Terry hasn't been found guilty yet either, but fuck it, why let that get in the way of anything?

I actually think we'd handle it much better than Liverpool. I realize neither incident is particularly comparable but when Ben Thatcher assaulted Mendes IIRC there was an almost universal outcry of disgust - certainly on this forum.

I realize that we would instinctively want to back our player, and I know that I certainly wasn't convinced by either the FA's judgment, or Evra's evidence, that Suarez did in fact go out of his way to try and get under Evra's skin by racially abusing him. Maybe that makes me a scouser or an apologist for a racist. Either way I'd like to think City would simply have done the sensible thing and had the player in question apologize, and try and get the situation sorted behind the scenes without the need to go crying to the FA...

racialism, smacialism, what is the difference in calling some-one a black bastard, and calling some-one a fat bastard

As a rule, fat bastards haven't been discriminated against in society or denied opportunities in life down the years simply because of what they are. Plus, if you're a fat bastard, lose some weight.

But nowadays, everyone can clearly see than Black people are clearly not denied opportunities - at the very least in football, and in pretty much any other aspect of life. That is racism discrimination against someone due to the colour of their skin (i.e. not letting them into a club etc)

I fail to see how calling Marcelo a monkey (despite the fact he actually looks like a monkey due to his facial features not his skin colour) is worse than singing "Joleon Lescott the elephant man"

Until there was proof it would be divided I suppose - which is kind of similar to what has happened with Suarez and Terry.

It's like Balotelli on Parker. To me it was a clear stamp and totally out of order, but because there is no-one of proving it, the voices are divided - which makes no sense to me because it seemed so obvious and those defending him were embarrassing. If that happened to one of our players then I bet the number of supporters for the chance that 'he was just trying to get his balance' would be far fewer, especially from RM - who I love!!
