How would you assess Rodri's season?

To be fair, I'm certain that there wasn't one person on this thread, and perhaps not one person in the stadium, who saw Rod as a future Ballon d'Or winner. Even as late as two seasons in.
I saw him on what was I think his début, at the London Stadium. He looked like a tidy passer right from the start. There was very little sign of his vision of the game, his 180°awareness, which came on by leaps and bounds. And he looked somewhat cumbersome on the turn.
But then, as George Martin said, “When I first met them, all they could give me was ‘Love Me Do’”. A mere three and a half years later they were producing Revolver.

Player performance threads are probably full of takes like this on every player tbf.

Ballon D'Or of course not, but my Dad spotted him straight away. He kept saying "This lad can play" and "You watch" when I had doubts. I remember accusing him of not passing forward enough in that first season and my Dad would not have it.
