Howard Webb to Ref Newcastle Game

Webb's record this season with us is 4 games, city won 3, 1 draw, 0 defeats

Stoke away 1-1, Spurs home 3-2, Norwich home 5-1, Everton home 2-0. No massively contentious decisions given against us. Could be said that he is a bit of a homer. Could be said that he was a bit 'influenced' by the media witchhunt about the Balotelli/Parker incident.

Refereed Newcastle's 3-0 win over the rags at the turn of the year

So why do I feel like the rags have got a result with this one?

Because you are paranoid.
Fortunately that ensures that you will never be alone on this forum.

He's got a reputation for loving the vermin but he's 10000x better than legitimately bent refs like Foy, Walton, and Atwell.

Webb usually refs our games well.

I have no issues with Webb.

Clattenberg would have been far worse.

Webb has reffed 4 of our matches this season, 3 at home and 1 away.

He has booked 13 players in those games of which 5 were our players.

He has only issued 1 straight red in 27 matches and sent 2 players off for two yellows.

We got away with the Balotelli incident and the possible Gareth Barry sending off at Stoke under him.

No complaints (Yet!!)

I dont have a problem with Webb doing our game.
To be fair, they all make human errors but I still think Webb is one of the best.
It could be a lot worse.

I'm glad it's that.

I'd hate to think it was anything like when the rags were 3-0 down at chelsea and needed something desperately they got two dodgy penalties

Or that the clear evidence of refereeing bias against us this season (Foy, Walton, Mason) leaves me feeling 'once bitten twice shy'

Fine with him. Best in England and fair to us this year for the most part.

I think he cares a great deal about his reputation as one of the best and will not be trying to sully it at this important time in the season.

Anyone but Twattenburg. amiright?

You can find conspiracies behind everything,if you look hard enough.
And if you don't find one, then you make one up - the more bonkers the better.
Then find the odd dodgy call and use it as 'evidence'.
People have made whole Bluemoon careers out of doing just this.
They are usually sectioned eventually, but due to a chronic lack of places in secure psychiatric units nowadays, several are left at large, usually on this very forum.

If he was the ref of the United v Swansea game then id be more worried.

Recall he gave Balotelli a penalty v Spurs in the last minute. Dont know what the fuss is about.

In an ideal world you would want Mike Dean reffing one of uniteds games. Hates united (Liverpool fan)

We win our two games then who cares anyway.
