surely the balance is in our favour now?

loads of people watched last night, and now will watch us go on to win the league, hence making the rivalry even bigger, hence giving everybody a bigger cash cow.

The media liked the Fergie/Mancini stuff and would love that to carry on, so City winning is beneficial.

Plus the FA have shown themselves to be above the media cries with the appointment of Hodgson.

Plus, if we can do the double over United we can beat Newcastle and QPR even if the ref was running round with a shotgun against us.

Plus Howard will want to referee the Euro's final as its pretty much the last thing he has left to achieve so he won't want to draw controversy to himself.

And if you are a conspiracy theorist then there's as much chance of the FA/Premier League wanting to get established teams such as Spurs and Chelsea into the CL ahead of Newcastle so wouldn't Newcastle be just as likely to be hard done by?

I'd hate to think it was anything like when the rags were 3-0 down at chelsea and needed something desperately they got two dodgy penalties

Or that the clear evidence of refereeing bias against us this season (Foy, Walton, Mason) leaves me feeling 'once bitten twice shy'

You can find conspiracies behind everything,if you look hard enough.
And if you don't find one,then you make one up - the more bonkers the better.
Then find the odd dodgy call and use it as 'evidence'.
People have made whole Bluemoon careers out of doing just this.
They are usually sectioned eventually,but due to a chronic lack of places in secure psychiatric units nowadays,several are left at large,usually on this very forum.

There is a blog you may have heard of called "football is fixed".

That blog posted a stat that in the last 47 United games featuring either chris foy,Howard Webb or Peter Walton as ref, they only lost one of those.

Similarly, of the last 22 games involving either city or the rags or United reffed by Peter Walton we didn't win one and they didn't lose one.

I have no reason to think either stat is inaccurate.

Call me paranoid if thats what amuses you, but if you have ever actually watched a city game refereed by peter Walton, and you are aware of those stats, the conclusion that he may be biased against us is not one which is particularly surprising. If you have done but dismiss the evidence of your own eyes as 'the odd dodgy call' well that's up to you.

But if you accept there is some evidence which suggests one referee is biased, is it so difficult to accept another one is too?

Therefore unless we get Ricky Hatton in charge and the Gallagher brothers running the line,the whole thing is a fucking conspiracy against City.

Doesn't matter who the ref is. In the end it's up too us to prove we are the better team on the day. We've shown in the past we can do that even with dodgy reffing plaguing the match. And Webb is a pretty good ref anyway.

Why is having the best referee in the country for the biggest game of the weekend a problem,exactly?
