Huddersfield Town (A) | EFL Cup | Post Match Thread

Fucked with this Covid/ flu whatever it is totally wiped out mate can’t get out of bed
If it's a runny nose and cough - it's a cold. Aching limbs and same as previously mentioned - it's probably the flu. Nothing's changed. If you come out of quarantine alive you'll either be a good cook or have a drinking problem - there is no in-between.

I don't get the point of this in a cup tie, grimsby took the game to united and ended up winning the tie on penalties, Lincoln did the same against chelsea last night, and were unlucky to lose by all accounts.
Agreed. It was a free hit for Udders who weren't expected to win, so they'd have nothing to lose by going for it.

Having said that, I suppose their manager wanted to see how they'd fare against a top PL side if they played the game tactically instead of suicidally. Well he got his answer tonight.

They were totally dominated, but not embarrassed by a cricket score. It's something their young side can learn from & build upon for the season ahead.

Not Savinho's biggest fan, but I gotta give him credit for that superb finish tonight ..... and Phils earlier one wasn't half bad either!

There's no doubting who the better team was throughout, but if that late shot of theirs have of gone in, instead of thumping against the post, we could have had a hectic finish to the game,

Spent all summer flirting with another club, he can fuck right off as far as I’m concerned. Don’t care if he scored a good goal against a third flight side
When he starts producing at our real level then he can talk. He was fucking dogshit at the weekend, lazy and cowardly
I’m done with him

Comfortable...very.
Great performance from Phil.
Really good from Nico G and Nico O, Mukasa, and Savinho.
Nice touches from Oscar too.
Huddersfield weren't really at it, IMO. At least have a go. Easy to say but they were LEVELS below.

My 2 lads went. I didn't because of work.
Savio with his shhhhh celebrations . Do fuck off. I don't like or rate him after summers shenanigans with Spurs.
Onto the performance-Happy with not really having to get out of 1st gear.
When players give the 'Shhh' it just confirms the low standards that they set for themselves - as though a single goal makes up for dozens of crap performances.

Celebrate out of pure relief, sure, but to think to that he's just proven any sort of point? Ridiculous.

Edit: it seems there's some doubt as to whether Savinho did actually shh the crowd, so please treat this as a generic opinion on every other git who does it :-)

I wasn't even their but he has clearly been rattled by some of the noise. I genuineley cannot remember 1 decent performance from him in a City shirt.
We should have ripped Spurs hand off for 60 -70 million

Can't believe Spuds would have paid top dollar. Pedestrian performance where we pass back and forth across the middle of the park. The outlet ball to the wingers they were happy to do because they knew our wingers would do fuck all

A bit harsh

I was excited when Doku first came, then disappointed. Recently I am seeing the Doku I hoped we had bought basically a St. Maximam in a better team.

Similarly I think Savinho can be Mahrez 2.0 BUT I take the point he has to put in the effort 100%

To be honest they didn’t have a choice
Of course they did, they could have pressed us instead of sitting deep trying to keep the score down, nobody from that league will ever win doing that against a top (weakend) side. As posted above it's a free hit, they can become more pragmatic if it gets out of control.

This wasn't our best team by a long way, good enough to win even if they had a go, but if they don't have a go it's just a nailed on win.

Poor management for me, and a poor watch for their fans, imho.
