8 Academy players involved tonight, obviously not all at the same but has the most in recent times.

Fair play to Huddersfield and their manager. They stuck to their task and never made it easy for us.
A workmanlike performance, which got minutes in legs, but none of the periphery players staked an immediate claim for a league start.

A patient performance. Huddersfield defended pretty well and we did the side to side thing to wear them out. Good to see Foden taking lots of responsibility to get on the ball. Nico G played a couple of nice balls in the second half for Savinho but would have liked to have seen him and Bobb attack their fullbacks from the corner of the box a little more particular in the first half. Bobb showed some of what he's good at off the ball in rapidly closing down their attackers and we won the ball back decently well.

One to forget except for the academy lads

Have to say when I saw Philips coming on. I've never been less excited to see a city player come on. But fair play go Pep. Would have been a big deal to him to get those minutes.

Haha yeah, at first I thought Pep was trying to bring him back on, but no, he just hadn't let him get far off the pitch before coaching him

He was so happy with Phil I Nico O when subbed, but Nico G...like he shat into his cappuccino, he was so worked up he didn't realise he put Kalvin on.

Coaching him on the pitch at full time was typical Pep and a tad embarrassing for the lad
