Huddersfield v City post match

The offside "Goal" was quite a pathetic attempt as was the cross he flapped at (And missed) that Sagna had to put out for a corner, he had virtually f*ck all to do and could still have lost us the game, and dont give me the shite that you were anywhere near confident whenever a high ball came in.

Even Bill isnt joining in with the Bravo hate so pack it in ffs.

He did nothing wrong today at all.

What exactly was he meant to do on the disallowed goal? Punch the Huddersfield forward in the back of the head to make more space for his kick save?

Obvious vendetta is obvious.

Not really a convincing display considering we were playing against an understrength Huddersfield. Any decent showing today shouldn't be reflected on how they would fare against stronger teams. The pitch was bad too so good news is no one got injured. Most of the diagonal long balls were poor from our defenders and keeper. Either it goes out or goes straight to a Huddersfield player. If we're not making any movement centrally because we didn't have Silva Yaya or KdB we could have at least play from wide instead of having Aguero to go deeper midfield only to have no one in the box that is already full of bodies. Too much passing around from the back and almost got caught a few times as well. Sum of all things really.

Kolorov had to be subbed so I hope its not serious.

A draw was fine. Opposition were not muppets. Gave some players a run out. Same again whenever the reply is, as HTFC are almost bound to 'throw' the game with a 2nd team, take the money and run. Relax.

The forum is shit tbh.

But on topic, poor game. Distinct lack of creativity and desire imo. Should batter them at home though, assuming Fernando and co are told to stay at theirs.

How many do you know ? It was quite a bit of our 2nd string, too. Plus don't forget, we had the added hinderance
of Kolarov at LB ;-)

Not many of them but i read that they'd made 7 changes from the league game for this match compared to our 6

... and kolarov is as good as it gets for us at left back!!

You can't dispute that they were a match for us and in my opinion, i think they were more than a match for us. When it got to around the 80th minute and we were meandering through the last ten minutes, it wouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone if they would have scored.

And putting it into context, this was their second string

They worked hard, had decent industry. That's all.

We lacked anything creative, but we have a big game on Tuesday so certain players were rested. The pitch was also horrendous.

You are a great example of the type of poster overreacting and just generally being incredibly negative.

Cheers,

Cheers, I get the jist of it now, sounds like a poor game to watch.

Quite pleased with that, result wise....still in the Cup after fielding a fairly weak team at a high flying in form Championship side. Could have gone horribly wrong but we dug in and rarely looked in trouble. When Sterling, Sane and Silva are not in the team we look a bit short on creativity.
Good performances by Fernando and Bravo.
Good chance of getting through to the QF's, playing at half pace, remind yourselves how often we did that between 1982 and 2010

Poor performance, quite evident imo the back up is not good enough ie Navas,Delph and Nolito. All of these need to be moved on at the end of the season and replaced with better quality.

Clear from the start, no urgency, no creativity and no cohesion. Kolarov's long aimless punts downfield did my head in, pointless balls.

At least we did not lose but needless to say on Tuesday we need to be miles better

I'll repeat for the third time for the hard of hearing, I said that they were not more than a match for us and they weren't. We were the better team but they got a draw because, yet again, we failed to capitalise on some very favourable opportunities. About the only major stat they beat us on was number of tackles and that was because they had to. Characterise that as matching us if you wish.

You must be very sensitive if you think i've over-reacted!!

Was just stating my disappointment that Huddersfield's second string is as good (bad) as our second string which i find pretty damning

Right we should of won that game the replay well its going to have to do. Playing a central 3 of Delph , Fernando and Fernandhio and wide men in Nolito and Navas poor Kun is what i feel. We all know Kun lives off great chances created and he rarely got many chances. When we did change it and KDB and Sane came on they didnt do fuck all. I am a bit worried about KDB its like he is in a slump at the moment. Always said we needed to start with Sane and Sterling and Kun we didnt and we lacked pace attacking at times sadly.

As for players who done well. Bravo its a clean sheet. Stones looking better and better at times. Fernando showed he can still have a role to play within the squad.

Players who are lacking game time and quaility at the moment Navas just aint good enough as back up. Delph why oh why he just aint to the standard he might stay next season as he matches a quota of the players we need to be in the champions league set up. Major changes needed to some of the back up players if we are willing to do it.

I feel sorry for Iheanacho should of got a couple of minutes this evening i think Kun was crying out for another player to play with higher up and Iheanacho would of been that guy for me to see. We could of dropped Delph with him coming into the team.

After today's performance, you can add Nolito to that list.

I think he will be gone at the end of the season. Since his lack of discipline earlier in the season, he hasn't had a sniff. Surprised he started today after so long out.

A lot of the players who played today must know they are not going to be here long term and I think it's a big ask to expect them all to gel in a one off game.

I'm not sure a replay is ideal for us but it's even less ideal for them with the fixtures they have and I expect a very weakened team from them, a bit more strength in ours bearing in mind we won't have played for 10 days and don't play until the following Sunday and on our pitch, a comfortable win.

As we don't have many fixtures at the minute it will be a good one to go to.

It's all a lottery for us though in this because whilst we still have a chance in the CL, if these games get in the way then we won't be full strength. Lincoln at home in the next round would be a good incentive, but of course we will prob get Arsenal away!

So if the replay is around the 1st March it means we play Monaco on Tuesday then have a week off and our fixture after the replay isn't until the Sunday. They play an important game against promotion rivals Reading on Tuesday, away in a Yorkshire derby at Barnsley next Saturday and then against Newcastle the Saturday after. I'd suggest the replay falls worse for them than us.
