To be fair, Stoke have held the rags to two draws this season, but as I said earlier, he's a very average manager....... obviouslyHas he ever done us a favour since leaving? Whenever he plays our rivals, he seemingly orders his team to bend over and take it.
He is another Brit manager who signs players who have BEEN something and then tries to squeeze another few years out of them. Has he EVER developed a player?
You might say he developed Kompany into a centre half, having bought him as a midfielder. It might have been clever or it might have been lucky, but he has been instrumental in our recent successes. He is another Brit manager who signs players who have BEEN something and then tries to squeeze another few years out of them. That was largely Bobby Manc from memory. You might say he developed Kompany into a centre half, having bought him as a midfielder. It might have been clever or it might have been lucky, but he has been instrumental in our recent successes.
Neither developed Kompany into a Centre half - he'd been a top class centre half long before he signed for us. It shows how poor a manager Hughes was that he tried to play him in Midfield. That was largely Bobby Manc from memory.
I'm not really anti Hughes and thought he started OK when things looked like they were going into meltdown, but a manager with limitations.
Hasn't been said enough in the last few pages. The man is and always has been a fraud. Clueless and shite.
I know he'd been a centre half, but he was a top player capable of playing as a holding midfielder and when Hughes bought him we had Dunne Richards and Onouha all quite capable centre backs but with the fading of Hamman no real defensive midfielder I don't think it was poor management to sign a skill full and versatile player like Kompany and use him in an influential and important position where we were lacking. He played well there for us.Neither developed Kompany into a Centre half - he'd been a top class centre half long before he signed for us. Exactly he was a top player capable of playing a number of positions, but neither Hughes or Mancini deserve any credit for developing him into a centre half!I know he'd been a centre half, but he was a top player capable of playing as a holding midfielder and when Hughes bought him we had Dunne Richards and Onouha all quite capable centre backs but with the fading of Hamman no real defensive midfielder I don't think it was poor management to sign a skill full and versatile player like Kompany and use him in an influential and important position where we were lacking.
