Hughes Bought Injury Prone Bellamy Because......

Yea because Mourinho wouldn't come in and sign Droba despite him being 31, Scolari didn't sign Deco despite him being over 30 and unlikely to adapt to the prem, Benitez didn't buy average Spanish speaking players like Riera and Arbeloa despite them being average, Wenger doesn't stick to his youth policy so he has an excuse for failure.

Face it all coaches prefer their comfort zone.

He needed someone he knew would stick up for him, the whole team was against him. He wanted Sicknote Cruz to come in and tell everyone 'the sun shines out of Sparkys bumcheeks' but he couldnt get him so he settled for Craig, who admittedly has done well for us when hes been fit but I think its a sign of the man and his lack of ability to motivate the squad when he is having to rely on the purchase of 30 year old strikers with recurrent injuries just to bolster his position in the 'dressing' room.

As I say, nothing really wrong with Craig but im pretty sure he isnt the 'big man' up front we all know we need.....

wow....i mean....WOW, this is some insight.....thank you for these well founded pearls of wisdom.

i guessing this is based on actual FACT.....rather than just a hunch.......thought not

don't start me on this one, my point is that when he was only bringing 1 striker in and we were woefully short of attacking options then it was pointless gambling on a player with an appalling injury record.

end of.

Well that is a bit different mate. Also you don't know that he didn't approach numerous clubs about their players, realistically if he was looking for a big man bar going below our level there are very few options especially in January where most clubs build their team around that player.

Also putting end of. after something doesn't constitute finished debate.

Let me double check, but I think Bellamy scored 5 goals in 7 games and was therefore responsible for getting 6 points that dragged us away from the relegation zone at a time when we were struggling.

So Hughes had to buy an injury prone player costing 16 mill to save us from a relegation battle ?.
I've heard it was an undisclosed fee, but figures say £14m, which is probably more than we paid anyway.

I've got no problem with Bellamy. I'd rather have him playing than not. Shame he's made of play-doh.

That's funny........not as funny as you wearing a nike shirt under your jumper when you did your Youtube video, but still funny.

One of the reasons we get such bad press from the media and fans alike is because even our own fans are going around perpetuating these lies about transfer costs. Hughes himself came out and said it was 'considerably' less than 14m. His latest injury had nothing to do with his previous ones and he had been in prolific form before it. There were threads on here about how good he was, his pace was ripping teams apart. Great buy, unlucky with the latest injury. Looking forward to seeing him next season.
