Hughes calls for clarity over Tevez row, MuEN block comments

Decided before the match which one the reporter attends? And anyone with any sense knows that that nextgen competition is far more newsworthy?

The NextGen competition is getting minimal attention as is (Daily Mail blog is about the best it gets in the nationals) so is hardly more newsworthy for a local newspaper. Not that I have anything against it being covered, I would like to see all of our academy games covered by them if possible but if any are to be, the most relevant for a local newspaper is City vs. United.

Pardon me for not conforming to your stance that we should question nothing and accept everything in the media. The media loves us and our owners, would it make you happy if everyone said that? Nah, you'd still find a way to attack fellow Blues in the most nasty, spiteful ways - because it is part of your character.

Seriously, you think that the local paper, who earns a living from covering all local sports teams, would intentionally not cover a derby win at youth level to get one over on City fans?

Really? That's honestly what you are suggesting?

I'm asking Brennan to answer why it wasn't covered while his eyes are on this thread. I am an avid follower of our youth system but I find their priorities strange at best and was looking forward to seeing some reports on an excellent display by our kids that I watched.

Is this more important than a youth derby?

The NextGen is an excellent idea but if you ask 9 out of 10 Mancunians which game interests them most - Marseille vs. City or United vs. City - what do you think they would answer?

NextGen is new and different; it involves some of the top teams in Europe.

The other thing was a youth game. I don't see you bitching that they didn't report that the under 11s beat United 7-1 a few months back? How come, what's the difference?

Also, you are forgetting that the EDS are our reserves and NOT our youth team. Reporting on reserves is well established, and not reporting on youth is also well established.

As I said, its an excellent idea and the Barcelona game (and the second coming up) was the showpiece of the group for our team but as I said, if you ask Mancunians what they'd rather read about - City vs. Marseille or City vs. United - with the same age group involved, are you going to argue with me that it'd be the former? Ideally both would be covered, Marseille because of the event and City vs. United because its a derby game.

Because the U11s are not the U18s and the U18 team is exactly the same as the NextGen team besides Bunn and Rekik.

Who covered City in 2005 by the way?

I wouldn't mind him back if he reported on just a "youth game", and it wasn't even the derby.

I think even you are beginning to argue just for the sake of it.
If as you say,you enjoy the YT`s then why not read the reports on the OS.
Simples.
