i agree we have money now so if we did a Chelsea we would never ever be able to pay for a world class manager who could get us up the table.

I think it's more that getting in shit managers in the first place has done nothing for us over the last 35 years.

If we've given a manager time to build up his own squad, but he's quite clearly not up to it, would you carry on settling for 2nd best? I for one wouldn't.

If he's brought in the players he wanted to bring in and moulded a side with regard to his vision and tactics, then yes it is. This is the case with Hughes. I think he got all of his targets for Summer.

I've moved to Hughes out. I dont see any way we are going to improve. He cant pick a team to beat the opposition out of the wealth of talent we now have. Our football has gone from superb 1 touch devestating attack to pedestrian long ball crap.
I can see if it was a few off results then you can blame an off day but when you have as many poor results with poor team play then i think the manager has to take the blame.
Only problem is, i would only have Hiddink out of who is available now so i think we're with Hughes for the season.

We were right to sack managers in the past 'cos they were shite aswel. Where is Frank Clarke or Peter Reid or Phil Neal or any other useless bastard you could think of. We didn't make mistakes sacking them, the mistake(s) came when it came to hiring their replacements.

I didn't want Hughes from day 1 and I don't want him now. He has done nothing other than buy good/very good players and turn them into pub team players in 15 or so matches. I cannot believe anyone other than Mrs Hughes thinks he is doing a reasonable job, let alone a good jon

I agree regarding stability but the reason we never got anywhere changing managers was because they have been shite managers.

We dont normally give a manager more than 2 years so we dont know if they might be the dogs bollocks for the job. We are renowned for it that when we have a bad run of results we sack the manager. It doesent work.
We have to at least give him till the end of the year and i dont mean December.
Believe it or not we are in a position where most people on here were happy for us to finish at the end of the year.
Its still November... Only just mind you !
