Hughes Inners Does Todays Result/Performance

I 'm not an inner or an outer ..... but I'm finding myself wanting a better manager, if one is available, more and more

For the quality of players we have, TBH, the results just don't tally!!! His tactics are dire!!!

....and no, I probably couldn't be a footie Mngr. But, Common sense usually prevails!!

He needs to show a bit of balls instead of changing like for like with his substitutions. Either close the game out e.g a defender for a midfiled player or go for it forward for defender or midfield player. Something is wrong when you have world class players drawing games against the likes of Burnley or Hull (no disrespect intended to them). How long would you give him? maybe till the end of the season...Is the squad good enough? Yes is the backroom staff good enough or his hangers on? No and the backroom staff are defo not good enough...

We sack him..
The new manager takes over..
The new manager then says after his 1st defeat yes but this team is not my team....
Judge me when my players have arrived blah blah blah another shed loads of players come and goes.
2011 we sack that manager and the merry go round starts again.
GET A GRIP. We have been slaughtered over the years from everyone about how many managers we go thru.
Changing managers over the past 35 years on such a regular basis has done what for us ?????? NOTHING.

I think it's more that getting in shit managers in the first place has done nothing for us over the last 35 years.

Spot on! How many of the managers we have sacked over the last 30 years have gone on to be successful elsewhere? NONE! They were sacked because they were useless.

We now have the opportunity to appoint a top class manager who will inherit a good squad with money to spend and who would on the best managerial salary in the world. They will be queuing up and our owners will have a very prestigous list to pick from.

But this is the first time in our history that we could probably attract a truly world class manager.
This has to be a consideration if things haven't improved by the summer.

Wholeheartedly agree.

Hughes has to have this season to prove his worth unless he loses touch with european places completely - and we're very much in the mix still.

I'd say if we finish the season where we are, 6th or so, we should replace him only if a truly proven better opportunity presents itself - i.e. things going balls up at barca and pep being suddenly available. If we sacked Hughes today and the best we had was speculation that Mourinho may one day want to come to england again and Hiddink wants to be director of football - to be honest, there is no-one on the marked who'd actually be better in a provable manner that would justify a mid-season sacking when the team is on course for its best ever season (albeit with some expectations being much higher).

I wouldn't have sold Dunne if we didn't have a better centre-half coming in. Same logic follows here.
