Isn't it bizarre how so many of the more enthusiastic Hughes supporters have an unhealthy obsession with all things Rag?

Always dragging in Ferguson to support their arguments, berating fellow City fans uncomfortable with a former Rag in charge of our club, more comfortable in our mediocrity than they should be...

Just a thought.
I'm afraid I have noticed the opposite. To me, there's an obvious correlation with many (NOT ALL) Hughes outers and frequent use of the word Rag/M*****

btw I have supported city ( as a season ticket holder)for nearly four decades to the exclusion of everything in my life. I haven't actually used SAF in any of my Hughes "in" arguments, but were i to do so, I find it completely insulting, your inference that this somehow invalidates my support for the club i love.

I agree mate and i told soulboy to be very careful. He has gone way to far with that one. Its opinions fella's and we wont always agree. We will however always be blue's.

Lol, if you didn't notice, I was being sarcastic (see other posts on this thread for details)

Apart from Stability and Continuity there's been no response as to why we should keep him so if you have any, bring them on.

I am not trying to jump-in on this debate, but I do like Hughes more than our recent managers.

The reason why I like him is the "open-style" of play that we have employed. This year our goal difference is +7, whereas last year I believe it was -5. This positive style of play is enjoyable to watch, though I admit it often leaves us open to the counter.

I feel if we can sign a consistent striker (or at least have one who will be healthy for the majority of the year), a dominating/creative midfielder (Johnson would be nice, but he has been so injury prone) and a strong central defender we will be in a very strong position next year.

I, however, am willing to admit that there maybe other possible candidates for the position who can offer a similar style of play and be able to ensure a more defensive posture.

The question is would they sign for us, and if not where would that leave us?

If there is nobody to fit the bill, I would be happy to stick with Hughes and see if he is able to improve.

I'll second that, we need more Clarkie's in this world to brighten our forum with pointlessly funny posts.

There's been no comment from the club yet, but that may not be necessary or may never happen if they intend on continuing with Hughes.
From my observations his conversation with the chairman was held on Friday evening, before the game and with european qualification still to aim for. There could be more than one assumptions made from their discussion.

1. The chairman did reassure hughes that his job was secure for a least 1 more season, regardless of our final position.

or,

2. His future was safe dependant on 7th spot i.e. euro qualification.

It depends on whether qualifying for europe was the minimum expectation this season, something I don't recall reading or hearing anywhere. If his future did depend on 7th spot and ADUG are considering other managerial options the chairman is hardly going to discuss this with hughes. We can only take hughes' word for it at the moment.

I'm sure the board are well aware of the frustration and uncertainty a lot of fans are feeling at the moment, and I hope to hear something concrete ( one way or the other ) from them shortly after the Bolton game.

Yep, anyone who supports our manager must be a rag.

Fucking sick of the Hughes out crew slagging off the boss and anyone who supports him. It's shite, if some people had their way we'd get a new manager after every defeat.

I've found it to rather be the other way round. If you have a Hughes out opinion it seems that his supporters seem to jump down your throat and bludgeon the stability arguement.

Apart from stability argument, why should he be kept on what has he acheived,I rate Ned Stevie Rob and Elano his buys are middle of the road, you could say he has had a hand in Ned and SI but they would be as good as they are anyway.
TWO AWAY WINS ALL SEASON FFS NOTTS FOREST BRIGHTON enough reason full stop

FFS! lets just give the man a year, see what he does.

Q: How many of the top 6 teams have changed their manager as much as we have?
A: One at a push - Chelsea but the spine of the team was Jose's and still is (and we know what Jose can do - he's an exception)

You've got Baconface, Wenger, Benitez, Moyes, O'niel in that list and O'niels had his job the shortest amount of time at 3 years!

We need some frigging consistency with the guy in charge before we can have consistency on the pitch. We have to give someone a decent spell in charge at some point and as its looking unlikely Jose will arrive in Manchester for the blue half (well 3/4 technically but thats spliting hairs ;) ) so why not just give him a year?

We'll all be singing his praises, like he wants in a year, IF we get somewhere - so lets give him a chance.

Yeah yeah yeah heard all that argument before.

One question to you and one question only. If you had a chance of selling Caicedo and buying Torres would you?

Course i bloody would, why ask a stupid question like that?

Torres wouldn't want to come to City regardless of who's in charge - he's playing at a club whove been in the thick of champions league, have come bloody close to winning the Premierleague and have a squad with the likes of Gerrard and Alonso. Be realisic. Could you persuade him? NOPE.

Maybe they stay in the job and their teams are successful because they are good managers.

As i recall all the rags were calling for baconface's sacking in his first season - they didnt though did they?
Maybe hughes wont come good but jesus lets give the man a chance even if he is a taffy ex red twat. We've gained nothing from changing manager every season.

My point wasn't about players coming to City. Surely the same applies to Hughes. If there is a better manager out there surely we should change now.
